At first we were skeptical about this museum. It didn't look large enough. Then we learned there is another building full of planes and it made more sense :)The museum covers local history a lot so it's important for locals. We were thrilled to see Yuri Gagarin's picture and handwritten letter as well as items he had with him during his missions he gifted to his friend. There was a letter from another Russian cosmonaut in there. Overall we had a good experience there!

A smaller air museum with a handful of planes through they are well cared for and on display. There are some interesting aircraft for any aviation buff including an MQ-1 Predator drone, a 1981 L-39 Albatross trainer, a Cessna L-19 Bird Dog, a Grumman TBF Avenger (with folded wings!), and more. They are spread across two large hangars and I happened to catch a kids outing with several children under the care of one of the volunteers. The museum also includes a large display of memorabilia and mementoes and newspaper cutouts of Fargo history and the service of those from the area. A small gift shop completes the museum.Tip: Check the local sports schedule. When the Fargodome is in use, they're selling parking in the lot here. You'll be on the street a block or four away.

This is a rather unique museum. Overall I enjoyed it a lot. I had thought this would be an adventure of several hours. As it turned out, we pretty well seeing the place in about an hour and a half. They have some amazing aircraft as well as very interesting history. I could not get the phone based tour to work. In fact there were only a couple of interactive things that functioned the day I was there. Still, getting to see the aircraft up close is quite fun and informative. I would have liked to have seen the cockpit of many of the planes, but that was not possible and photos of such were not on display.

There were two young men running the place. Very nice and respectful, but when it got busy they did get overwhelmed. Some of the exhibits were not in place due to a private event that ended the day before. It was so incredibly quiet with no background noise or overhead music playing. It did make it seem a little like you weren't supposed to be there, or maybe it made the experience feel a little incomplete. The exhibits were great and my uncle was with us. He acted as our tour guide and he knew everything about everything so that elevated the experience for us.

I recently had the opportunity to visit the Fargo Air Museum in Fargo, North Dakota, and I must say, it was an excellent experience. From the moment I walked through the doors, I was impressed by the extensive collection of aircraft and the overall atmosphere of the museum. The museum is home to a wide variety of aircraft, ranging from vintage warplanes to modern civilian jets. The collection is incredibly well-maintained, with each aircraft meticulously restored and displayed with informative plaques detailing their history and significance. Walking through the museum felt like a journey through aviation history, and I was constantly in awe of the craftsmanship and engineering that went into these impressive machines. One of the standout features of the Fargo Air Museum is the knowledgeable and enthusiastic staff. They are happy to answer any questions and provide additional information about the aircraft and aviation in general. They also offer guided tours, which I highly recommend taking advantage of, as they provide a deeper understanding and appreciation of the exhibits. In addition to the aircraft, the museum also boasts a variety of exhibits showcasing aviation artifacts and memorabilia. These exhibits provide further insight into the world of aviation and offer a well-rounded experience for visitors. There is even a flight simulator that allows you to experience the thrill of flying firsthand. The museum itself is spacious and well-designed, allowing visitors to explore at their own pace. There are plenty of seating areas and interactive displays that engage both adults and children. The museum also hosts various events throughout the year, including aircraft shows and educational programs, which further enhance the overall experience. In terms of value for money, the Fargo Air Museum is well worth the admission price. The quality and significance of the aircraft on display, combined with the wealth of knowledge provided by the staff, make it a truly enriching experience. Whether you're an aviation enthusiast or simply looking for an interesting and educational outing, the Fargo Air Museum is a must-visit destination.Overall, I cannot recommend the Fargo Air Museum enough. The well-preserved aircraft, knowledgeable staff, engaging exhibits, and overall atmosphere make it a standout attraction in Fargo. Whether you're a longtime aviation fan or just curious about the world of flight, the Fargo Air Museum is sure to leave a lasting impression.

It’s not huge but it’s a really great aviation museum. Highly recommended. All the planes are in exceptional condition and they do a really nice job of keeping them up. They even have a really cool library on the second floor. If you were interested in aviation, then you got a stop on by.

I visited this museum yesterday with my dad, an elderly veteran (paratrooper), and we both really enjoyed it. The aircraft are in excellent condition, great restoration jobs coupled with the planes on exhibit in two indoor hangars (except for the B-25). The Corsair, Mustang, and TBF from WWII are in particularly good shape. I always appreciate seeing an F-4, and a Predator drone was also on display, along with trainer aircraft, a Huey chassis, a DC-3/C-47, various engines. The information in the displays was excellent, and there was an extensive library. Simulators available, although we didn't try them. Accessibility was generally good, everything on the ground floor except for the library. Clean, well-lit. I go to a lot of air museums and this one is excellent!

Went there twice and both times they had something special, something interesting to show and read about. The first visit was closely after COVID, so a lot of things have been postponed/unavailable in the matter of activities, but the reading about all the airplanes was still very interesting! The second time was just recently, and "oh, boy", do they have much more things/activities going on! From the VR experience of flying a plane to the paper planes contest! The airplanes are shifting as well, and they're constantly working or (re) building/recovering more new-old airplanes.Love the place. Proud to have such an attraction in our city.

I called yesterday and spoke to a female. I asked her if we were able to pay for the flight simulator without having to pay admission into the museum. Her exact words were "yes of course". She explained that we couldn't come yesterday because a private company was utilizing the sim. We showed up today and were told that we had to pay 40 dollars admission to museum first and then we could pay for the simulator. We explained that we specifically called ahead of time to avoid waisting our day and they couldn't care less.Terrible way to waste our time. Our 13 year old had his hopes up for a fun experience only to be incredibly disappointed. The museum is small and not worth the admission price. We are from Florida and have been to much better air museums across the nation for half the price and even free of chargeMy advice to this business is at minimum train your staff so they don't give out misinformation.

Went with my Dad to donate several model airplanes he had worked on over a decade. The docent was very nice and engaged with my Dad and his stories about his years of service and what he knew about all those model airplanes. It was a very special experience.

While having aircraft that appear to be in good condition, there's no real theme or narrative to the displays. It's very much a random mishmash of military and civilian planes, along with other oddly miscellaneous things like motorcycles made to look like stealth bombers. The admission price is at the upper end of what I consider reasonable for such a display.

It was a pretty neat museum. My kids had fun checking out all the planes and my husband had fun telling them about them. My husband is retired military and we found his "brothers" in the wall of dogtags of fallen soldiers from Iraq.
