Where to begin.... Okay, so I went in there to play lottery and to make a purchase of two fountain drinks. I only had a $50 on me. Simply wasn't trying to be difficult...it really was the only thing I had. I went up to pay and the total was $32 and some change. I had the $50 and the lady advised me that she couldn't take a $50. I explained to her that's all I had period, and I even went back to the car to make sure. Still the same.. only the $50. I was NICE ENOUGH to at least take $5 from my mom to pay for the two drinks. That's when the manager came up and was slightly aggressive. He said “This isn't what's important!†I asked him what he would like me to do, I only had a $50. He told me he wouldn't take it and I could go get change somewhere and come back. He went even further to tell me he's had signs up for weeks saying the store will not accept anything greater than a $20. Okay, who goes around reading signs on doors? The sign was about 6ft up... I'm only 5ft. So, sorry I missed the sign and sorry I don't live in Dickinson. So, 6 weeks means nothing to me when I live 45 mins outside Dickinson and I was heading home. So, I had no choice but to leave the lottery. This seemed to further upset the man, but what am I going to do? He asked me “So, you're sticking me with $30 in lottery?†Hate to break it to you, but sir, you did that, not me. Let me add that i said to the man if it was a change issue I even offered to add more on to purchase, but again, nothing could make the manager happy.
