I like this place! Personally I haven't sent my deer meat here but I do stop time to time for the summer sausage. The summer sausage with cheese is the best stuff around!!!! Meat sticks could use a little bit of work but still good!

It has been a few years, but I was absolutely shocked with how my deer processing went. My wife and I both shot mule deer antlerless brought on the same day. Her shot was a clean shot through the lungs on a big adult doe with no damage to any shoulders, mine was a little yearling shot through the front shoulder. The sausage was ready at the same time, but her steaks and roasts were ready a week before mine. A week later my steaks and roasts were ready, well apparently my little yearling that was shot through the shoulder was the exact same weight as her big adult doe....31 lbs of boneless meat. This made me realise that something was wrong as my wifes doe was almost double the size as my little fawn. But, what made me so dissappointed was that the sausage and steaks tasted way way off. I have had many many deer processed around the area and this was by far the worst tasting venison/sausage I have experienced.

We still highly respect them for most things, but same time feel let down with deer processing. Consider your deer steaks are something valued and not all that plentiful even on a clean shot and well dressed deer. So why would they take our 6 lbs of steaks and freeze in two 3 lb frozen blocks? Their response was that's normal? If there was two steaks cut that large that makes one package? I think deer steaks should be cut into 'normal' size steaks and not 1.5 lb steaks, this is where the problem started.Next year, well we'll see. We like the place, the people, their products, but someone there just ruined one of our favorite parts of the deer harvest. They should know to look at more than just number of pieces of meat per package, they should also consider the volume or weight! Otherwise two rear hind Quarters would be two servings froze in one block?We also learned to be more careful at drop off and discuss literally every single detail you expect. This is usually necessary at this level but if you don't I guess you take what you get. We learned to be far more careful, hopefully they look a little deeper at their own process as well.We still like the place and people but this was disappointing.

Staff is super friendly. NY strips were spot on. Cod was meaty and made great fish tacos. Started this morning with there cinnamon rolls ? Would give 6 stars!! -Chef
