Terrible Credit Union in regards to professionalism and safety of your funds. We have personal and corporate accounts with Capcu and the business department blames our staff for their tellers mistakes and tells us that non authorized users were able to take out money from our accounts and it's our fault! This would be theft by the teller and bank if this is true (have the emails to back this up) but I think it's them avoiding responsibility. We have millions of dollars through this bank! Check images were not made available for over a year on line, their Business President whom quit and came back a year later after getting promoted, Brad Shetler, told us to go somewhere else and bank instead of fixing their mistakes! Yet he can quit and return with a promotion after handeling issues like this!? Ryan in business accounts refuses to reply to emails multiple times when asked to fix their mistskes showing cash was removed when it wasn't, from our business account. I've had customers use them for car buying privatley and it took weeks due to hoops they wanted him to go through. Just save your time and money. We'd change banks but it takes so much to switch a corporation account from one institution to another, they know this at CU so they just screw you over more because they don't care about service. Terrible Credit Union. Worst ever dealt with. And on top of it all, they refuse to direct my complaints to a higher up!!!

DON'T GO HERE!!! The worst experience I've ever had with a bank. They lie, they cheat and they steal.

Watch out for huge fees due to their mistakes that they may be able to partially refund if you jump through some hoops.

I got an auto loan through this credit union due to dealership financing. When I attempted to make my first payment I found out that the Capital Credit Union website had no option to make a payment online. I then set up a bill payment through my bank to pay the bill since my bank does not charge me a fee. My bank actually mails a physical electronic check to the credit union. I noticed very quickly that it took an exceedingly long time for the electronic check to clear my bank. Upwards of 10 days. Due to this and the inconvenience of not being able to pay online I decided to payoff the loan. I mailed a physical payoff check with 5 days additional per diem to the PO Box they told me. After 5 days and noticing the check had still not be processed on their website I started a chat conversation with Nicole. She informed me after checking on my loan that all checks that had come in had been processed for that day. I followed up with some additional questions but I got no further response from her, yet the chat conversation was still open. After about 10 minuets of waiting I finally called the credit union and spoke with another rep who told me that the loan was now paid off. I asked where Nicole had gone and he said she had gotten "pulled into a meeting". I told him to tell her that I was not pleased by her "walking" away from our chat without any notice. I told him I thought it odd that she would tell me the loan wasn't paid yet and that all checks had been processed and then 10 minutes later "behold" the check was found and paid off. I let them know that delays of processing payments should not be blamed on the U.S. Postal Service when clearly the delay starts once payments hit their building. I also requested a copy of my chat conversation be emailed to me and I have yet to receive that too. I wonder if their email system is as slow as their check processing?

Recently moved to ND and intentionally opened an account at a local credit union so that I could make deposits locally, and electronically transfer funds to other accounts to pay bills. When I set up the account, I explained the purpose of the account to the bank representative, who assured me that I could do what I needed to do through a savings account and set up on-line transfers. Great. In the last month have made several cash deposits and requested transfers on-line. These transfers have taken a ridiculously long time. For example, one transfer initiated on the 12th, did not get 'processed' until the 21st. When I set up the on-line account, the bank initiated a withdrawal and deposit is activate the account within 48 hours -- when transferring my real money, it takes over a week. Because of this 'activation process,' it appeared that they were capable of transferring funds in a reasonable amount of time. After the first transfers took over a week, I asked the teller why it took so long to transfer money. She couldn't give me a reasonable explanation. In this day of technology, this is completely unacceptable. And remember, 90% of my deposits were cash. This lag in the electronic movement of my money has caused me to incur over $150 in late charges and fees. I will be closing this account immediately. This could quite possibly be the fastest account open and close on record.

Our kids have accounts here. Unbelievable how little interest they receive. It is a credit union. One would think they would do better. I guess we are going to 1834 ourselves out of there.
