** LOOKING FOR HONEST GOOD MECHANIC - KEEP LOOKING! **
First off, I never leave reviews, but I feel compelled to warn others about my experience at Finn's Garage. I took my wife's SUV for a squeaky brake. Finn said I needed a complete brake job, which I agreed to doing. Afterwards, I took the car back to Finn three times because of a bad burning smell. He couldn't figure out what was happening. The last time, he said my front calibers were locked up and he has never seen anything like it. So he removed my front OEM calibers and charged me to replace them with aftermarket ones. In addition, my new pads and rotors were destroyed, so he charged me to replace those again. The burning smell continued so I took it to a different mechanic. What he discovered was shocking.. Finn installed the front brake pads in backwards, the inner and outer pads have different thicknesses so by installing backwards, one side of the pad was always locked up. Finn put my wife and kids at risk for weeks.. I went back to tell him what the other mechanic found and showed him the pictures, but him and his wife got nasty and refused to take ownership or offer any apology. They said they did nothing wrong and I'm the one that made the mistake by taking it somewhere else to look at it instead of bringing back to them. Keep in mind, I went back multiple times to have the issue corrected. They charged me to replace OEM calibers that were perfectly fine (never got back), two additional sets of pads, and another rotor. They refused to refund me ANY of my money. They asked me to leave their shop and never come back when I asked for a refund. I had to dispute some of the charges with my credit card company. I attached pictures of the rotor/pad to show how the brake pads were CLEARLY labeled "Inner" and "Outer" right on them, but you can see that the outside of the rotor has the "Inner" pad installed on the outside. This was a miserable experience, both for me and my wife. I couldn't believe the level of incompetence and deniability. If I was able to leave a lower star rating, I would.

BUYER BEWARE !!! I took my vehicle to finns garage due to it having starting issues. I provided a brand new starter that I purchased from Auto zone; Not only did Mr. Finn neglect to use the provided starter. He over charged me for a starter that he claims he purchased. Upon picking up my vehicle I noticed the same starting issues that it already had, I took it back to Finn and he claimed the starter a manufacture defect. After the second one was put on I still have the same starting issues. Fed up with finns garage I took it to another shop and they made me aware that the starter wasn't new OR in working condition. I called Finn to complain about the matter and received negative customer service from a lady. I have spoken to other customers who also shared the same stories of finns garage

BEST PLACE FOR YOUR VEHICLE NEEDS!! I took my lifted Jeep wrangler with 39 wheels to Mr. Finns shop and WOW I am truly amazed how professional and quick he and his team are. I came in with a broken hub bearing and bad brakes. It only took him a couple hours to fix my Jeep. I am so happy I was recommended to this shop! Mr. Finn will make you feel like a life long friend and he's a man of his word. I will be recommending your shop to anyone and everyone who needs a simple oil change to a brand new transmission! See you in a couple of months to fix the lexus clutch!

Consumers BEWARE!! Took my truck here to diagnose a LEAN issue (fuel/air mixture too lean) first they replaced the EGR valve. Had to bring it right back the following week because my truck didn't want to start and stay idling. Next, it was the MAF (Mass air flow sensor) they said needed to be replaced... To make a long story short, my truck has been having major issues lately with idling as well as trying to stall while I'm driving down the highway. Upon taking it to a different shop and another town, we discovered the "new" mass air flow sensor that I was charged almost $300.00 for, was BROKEN! Also, the wires leading to the MAF were chewed out & had not been replaced at all! These guys really took me for a ride. Not to mention paying over $100.00 for them to install my headlights (which I provided) and did not adjust them correctly, not flush with the runner lights. Please think twice before breaking your vehicle here!

I took my Mighty Max truck to Finn's garage in the first week of November 2021 to ask if they could fix an oil leak. They told me sure. They were going to order the parts and tell me when to bring the truck back. 2 weeks later after calling Phil Finn (the owner) every few days, he finally told me he could get the truck in to work on it. 01 December 2021 he worked on my truck. Rick (his mechanic) removed the timing cover and replaced some oil seals and replace the timing belt and told me everything was good. This same day he got paid the bill was over $500.00. I drove the truck and it ran rough, idle really bad, and still had the same oil leak. I went back to him and ask if he could recheck the work done and make sure it was correct, that I still have an oil leak and now the truck timing was off .He said to bring in on the next week that he had too much to work on. The next week come and I went back and he put me off for another week with some excuse saying he never got caught up with work that he has around his shop. Well time went by week after week after week and finally I went back in the middle of January and and asked him again to recheck his work and actually pointed out the issue with the oil leak and I asked him to please check the timing on the truck because it was not running correctly. He aid If he went back into the timing and recheck his work he would have to charge me again. This should have been under warranty, he said but it is not. I said to him but I just paid you for this work and it is still an issue. He told me it was something else along with other things as well. He told me with the truck I had, I should only drive it to and from the store only, none on the highway. I told him this is funny because before he worked on it I was able to drive any where at any speeds. He got mad and told me to bring the truck back in another week. I told him never mind. After I left his shop I went around asking different car mechanics about this issue, they all told me that is should have been under warranty. I went and got a dispute on him. This man don't know how to treat his customers or obvious don't give a dam. He said he had been in business a very long time but it doesn't matter he should have fixed what was messed up. I will not be going here anymore. I got my money back and to me he is not good. I do have my truck running again back to where it need to be. Mr Finn has lost business from me and who ever I tell. When this situation was going on, I went as far as to where the part come from to make sure it was the right part. The car parts store knew this man and told me they had customers that had bad experiences with man in Youngsville. They highly recommend me to go to another place. He is mad at me because I got my money refunded, but it is better. I got my truck back running good with out any oil leaks and the timing is good. Just wanted to post this to let other people aware of what he does.

Finn's garage had my car about 4 months. I had never been to a mechanic where the work was so bad. The mechanic took the 1979's chevy logo nut for my carburetor. He said he must have lost it....yeah right ..he lost it in his pocket because it was valuable. This review is because it was such a terrible experience. I drove my car from Finn's garage to another mechanic in Raleigh. The new mechanic said, "they put on the wrong hoses, and other things they did had to be fixed. So, do yourself a favor and find a better mechanic.
