They tried to extort my for the cost of a fill up then tried to charge me to cancel convenience pay. I had to explain to them how there own payment system worked. Once they realized I knew what was going on, everything became an honest mistake. Okay right, after your automated system completes the same task seven times then unexplainably screws up. Then I have to pay to fix your screw up, no no no.. Don't do business with these people, they will try and screw you. After this tank runs out I'm getting an electric water heater and they can have their tank back. I am shocked at what they tried to pull.

I let my gas tank reach 0%, since I'm new to using gas for heat. My wife called Amerigas to get it refilled, and they said they can refill in 10 days. During this 10 days, the high is in the 40s, and the low is as low as 17 and below freezing every day. This is unsafe temperatures for a family with kids, and unsafe for the pipes in the house. For this reason, my wife pleaded with them to expedite the process, and they hung up on her. Then she called back, and they hung up again. Then I called at around 1pm, and they said they could expedite it within 24 hours for $300 and $200 for 72 hours. I went with the $300, and I got off the call pleased. But then I noticed that I didn't get the text message she said I would get, so I called back at 6pm and they said they had no record of the expedited delivery, so I had them set it up again. This wasn't easy, since the rep had to get her manager to assist. Finally, they were able to set it up, and I got the text message, so I only had to deal with this cold for 1 day. Then the next day came, and they still didn't show up. I called at 5pm to ask about the status, and she said it was $300 for 24 to 48 hours, but that was never said and that was also not what was in the text or my account of their website, which both said "expedited 1 day". I bought this house with an Amerigas tank, so I'm stuck with them as a provide, but they are literally willing to destroy my house, since they know it's not easy for me to get another supplier. Avoid at all costs. If you are buying a house with an Amerigas installed, then make them remove the tank before you purchase, so you can get a different supplier.

Amerigas Scam Alert: Amerigas in Franklin County NC has advertised a $199 per gallon LP gas program for new customers. What they did to me is send out a person to do a "Safety Inspection" in order to provide new service. The cost is $437.50 for the inspection. My home is one year old and passed a Franklin County inspector's inspection, however the Amerigas inspector said there was two safety violations on the regulator. They could not provide the actual Franklin County code violation that they claim is in need of repair. When I asked the company that installed the regulator, they site that the regulator is in safety code compliance. This is a SCAM by Amerigas to generate repair revenue. After over 10 calls in a month, no one at Amerigas can quote the safety violation. They do not deserve any stars, I had to choose one in order to post.

Absolute crooks - invoiced me $1000 for gas I did not order and that they never delivered. Have tried to contact them by phone 6 times and each time they say they will check into it and they never call me back. Worst service I have ever encountered.

Worst company ever. Used to be worthwhile. Now all they do is take your payment and then lie and make excuses about delivery of product paid for. Left us sitting on Christmas weekend with no heat. As soon as I can find another vendor they are off my property.

Left us with no gas for 2weeks! Paid the extra $200 for the emergency service said someone would be out that day. That was 2 days ago!!! I am having to find somewhere else for my baby to stay bc we dont have heat or hot water. You have to repeatedly call and complain just from them to come out. They just take your money, dont show up and hope you dont notice. This happens everytime we order gas. Going to call and have these deadbeats pick up their empty tank and find someone else. This has been going on for far too long

How do they even show up on a list that starts " 10 Best..."? From billing foul ups to failures to deliver this company is terrible. On site they have bad attitudes. Pushing the automated fill up where they provide monthly top off twice I've run out of fuel. Emergency services non-existent, even when temps are below freezing. No follow up on "promised response". Completion of tank upgrade took 3 1/2 months to get fuel credit applied to account and was in fact never done by field office who they claimed was responsible. Go see Facebook, they literally have hundreds of angry customers with very real and understandable stories. Amerigas destroyed a good local provider service in buying Campbell. Employees that stayed for a few years before leaving have all shared they sentiment. Don't be deceived thinking these folks are good. The only thing done exceptionally well is delivering the well rehearsed apology.

Terrible prices on gas. In addition to rent, they also charge YOU an annual fee to inspect and maintain their own equipment! Moral of the story? Buy your own tank and call somewhere else for gas.
