I came here for a convention. The walkway from the public parking deck was most helpful when bringing our booth items back to the car.Walkability: This location is in between 4th and 5th streets where so many eateries exist, as well at the Benton Convention Center and the Piedmont Craftsmen Gallery exists on Trade and 6th St. After dark, I would travel in pairs.

I had a wonderful experience at the Marriott during my stay. It was a convenient location, as well as very comfortable and accommodating. The staff was also very helpful, particularly Travis who went the extra mile to help me!! Thank you.

First of all… I asked the bartender where the stairs were because they are super hard to find. She said and I quote, “oh there are no stairs here.” I was like, “There have to be stairs, what if there was a fire?” She laughed and was like I have never seen the stairs here before but I guess you’re right. Wow. Just wow. Train your employees on important things like knowing where the stairs are! That’s terrible. Seems like first day important information to know. The stairs themselves should be labeled better. There should be signs pointing you in the right direction… Like hey you have to walk up to the second floor and then go through these doors by the bathrooms hidden around a corner and then take the first door on the left through those two doors into this ghetto looking hallway. It is also difficult to find the stairs on each floor if you don’t know where they are. So, in case there is actually a fire or an emergency and the elevators are broken, they are across from room “01” on whichever floor you are on near the ice machine area. For example we were on floor 7 so they were across from 701.The whole reason we asked about the stairs was because the elevators are very slow. We ended up only being able to take the elevator twice the whole weekend. We took the stairs every time we went up and down so we wouldn’t be late for all our events since there were too many people waiting for the elevators. You would think that a hotel built to hold so many people would have enough elevators to take them to where they are staying…If you get a group rate price you can’t get breakfast included with your room. There is no microwave in each room like some business hotels and the fridge wasn’t very cold and despite pushing the “chill” button a few times while we were there it wouldn’t get colder.Overall mediocre. For the price, subpar. The proximity to the convention center is the only reason they get a star. It was pretty sad even someone who worked there did not know where to find the stairs. That’s unacceptable. We will not be staying here again.

Do NOT stay in room 1501 oh my gosh you get zero peace. The elevator runs every few seconds and it sounds like it is in this room. Such a shame .... The hotel room is not bad at all but I am in this room and literally I am about to lose my mind it is SO loud. I hope the elevator slows down over the night or there will be NO sleep. Really disappointed since we are Diamond Members figured it would get us a little better spot ..... Nope.

The view is nice but the hotel is old and sadly understaffed. It's not that they don't have enough bodies working there. You see plenty of staff walking around. But it seems it takes 3 of them to do the job of one.For example their restaurant is setup with at least 20 tables capacity, but it seems they can only handle 3 tables at a time and won't even sit the many people waiting in line. When we (party of 4) eventually got seated they brought a carafe of coffee but only 2 cups. So it took them an extra trip. Inefficiency abounds. The lounge is not serviced frequently enough (back to staffing issue?). For example the coffee machine was not working (seemed to me all it needed was a reboot). I reported to concierge and instead of paging a staff they told me to get my coffee from the restaurant. I don't see how the restaurant staff would take time out to go make a cappuccino to someone waiting in line to be seated. The lounge is not supplied with hot food during weekends. All you'll find there is candies/snacks/water and... coffee, if you're lucky.

It's sad that I'm giving them a poor review as most of the employees are very nice with the exception of a few. Stayed here for a long work trip and the night shift at the front desk and the valet were very rude and unprofessional. Poor attitudes all around and I constantly had to wait for them to get off their phones watching videos before I could get their attention. The valet sat across the hall and had his AirPods in watching Netflix. When I walked up to inquire about where I should leave my car he was annoyed and said nothing just held out his hand while watching his show. The rest of the staff was very friendly but the late night crew not so much.

Stayed for 3 nights for Wrestlecade 2023 and had a great time. Very nice rooms in great condition. It was quiet and peaceful and the location is great! It's a 5 minute walk from about 6 great restaurants, convenience stores and the convention center. You can part your car for the weekend. Looking forward to next year!

The Winston Salem Marriott was a perfect blend of comfort and convenience. Its central location and exceptional amenities, including the fitness center and it was walking distance from the convention center which was great. They also had restaurants within walking distance, which enhanced my stay. Visiting in late January, I experienced personalized and attentive service. I am excited about returning and utilizing my network for hosting events and collaborations at this venue.Walkability: It was walking distance from the convention center which was great. They also had restaurants within walking distance, which enhanced my stay.

The only complaint is that there are not microwaves in the rooms...the rooms are excellent, staff is professional, and the location is great.
