Took my 2012 Prius V there for assessment. Was told it was a blown head gasket, despite my car NEVER having run hot which is indicator #1. In fact the needle never began even trending in that direction. But hey, you’re supposed to trust the guy you take it to yes? Gave permission to repair. After several weeks, many hours pursuing Bill by phone for updates and $3800 (that’s right and he told me that was a “deal”) later, I drive off. A week and 408 miles down the road, I’m stranded on the road with loud noises and a mini pond of oil. Have it towed back to Bill because he last worked on it. What am I told? The car threw a rod and I now have a hole in my engine! Next steps? I need to scrap the car or buy a new to me engine. That’s when I’m told that gen3 Prius’s are known to do this AND blown heads at high mileage (mine at 178k WTH did he not inform me of that when the head blew?! I could have looked at options then versus being forced into options now) I chose the used engine route only because other than miles, the car is in very good mechanical and aesthetic condition. In short, another month and 1/2 to 2 months went by with little to no help from Bill to search to help secure me an engine. The only time I heard from him is when I called the shop and was “lucky” enough to catch him and/or I drove across town to the shop with the same luck and I made the most of the time and sat for sometimes two hours having him look at things on the computer and making phone calls to warehouses, junk yards etc. Needless to say, no more work was completed by Bill. I had friends show up with a flatbed who towed it away for me. Bill didn’t have the decency to come outside.** He sold me up front on his ability to talk a good game and sure, perhaps he does have hybrid knowledge. I couldn’t validate that. He lost me with his lack of follow through and customer service, overcharging me on the head gasket, false sense of security, lack of urgency **Services: Auto engine diagnostic

Bill was a God send , he is a noble and honest mechanic with a heart of gold.I had my Prius break down in Winston Salem, over an hour away from home. Bill was knowledgeable in problem solving, and was able to pinpoint the issue (inverter water pump malfunction) and also was able to clear the hybrid system warning light on my Prius. I cannot thank him enough!Consider this shop if you want an honest and trustworthy mechanic .

I've been taking my cars to Bill's for 8 years now. His mechanics are skilled and they take the time to explain what's going on. Bill always starts with the least expensive fix first if there are options- case in point I went to a franchised place on a Saturday because Bill was closed, and they quoted $1700 to fix my brakes- Bill fixed it for about $200. He'll give you a ride if needed and he always does things the right way: one summer afternoon he drove to my work and got underneath my car on the hot pavement to make sure a cap was put back on correctly. It had been.

I purchased a hybrid battery from Bill (GreenLeaf/Bills Auto Clinic) 8 months ago with an extended 2 year warranty. This past Monday, June 3 my wife was commuting for work and the hybrid system died on her (8 months after install). I emailed and called Bill to try and set up a time to come out and either replace this battery or fix it. I was told by Bill he had filed bankruptcy and there was nothing he could do both verbally and by email! He has since avoided my emails and calls except for my 1st inital call and email when he told me he had filed bankruptcy?? You are still running a shop?? I have already put in a complaint with the BBB and have also started other actions

I was in a bind and needed my 2010 Prius engine replaced for a trip the upcoming weekend - Bill at The Hybrid Shop of the Triad was able to get everything sorted out in a day or two for less than half the cost of my quote from the dealer. Could'nt be happier to have my Prius running smoothly since the replacement 7 months ago. Highly recommend.

Customer beware...!!! Bill is crooked. I took my 2001 Mazda MPV Van to Bill's and was called with a estimate of 400.00 bucks and oh what a shock I got when I came back to pick up the van and pay the bill. He charges big money for the parts and when I say big I mean big. The spark plugs were 16.59 for each plug (he claimed they were made of space age material) they were iridium plugs to wich he paid 6.99 for each plug, and yes I have checked on the price of them and all the other parts included in this review , so I was charged 99.54 just for plugs that i could have bought myself for 43.54 not including tax and that's not honest at all for him to do that. I was charged 69.59 for plug wires to wich he paid 30.99 and to me that's not honest of him either. I was charged 94.56 for a oxygen sensor to wich he paid 56.99 and once again he overcharged me. This guy overcharges his customers for parts. I sugested you buy your own parts and take them to him because he obviously doesn't mind milking his customers for parts. I could have saved 131.77 buying the parts myself so let me tell you this guy isn't honest and fair at all and as for as the labor charge it's hard to tell how crooked this guy is because he doesn't tell you how much time it takes him on the receipt. I was charged 327.99 for parts and 277.84 for labor. I received a oil change with filter, new spark plugs and wires along with changing the oxygen sensor. What Bill didn't know is that I am a ase certified mechanic from WV who was traveling without my tools and needed the work done asap and he didn't even have 3hrs of labor in repairs. Customer beware...!!! He also bragged about taking a woman for 3,600 to change plugs and wires on her car. Seems to me if you know nothing about cars this guy will take full advantage of you as the other reviews show.Hey by the way my engine light has come back on.

I have to say I am a bit biased, but as Bill's wife, I can say I am proud to be a customer as well. We have a free shuttle service, and I am the driver, I love getting the chance to spend quality time with our customers learning about their lives and cars as I drive them home or to work and back. We strive to provide the very best service possible, and we stand behind our work and parts with a 2 year/24,000 mile warranty on everything we do.

I've been taking my truck to Bill's for a few years since my girlfriend recommended them. Recently they replaced a bad fuel injector. During the repair o-ring seals on another injector were damaged and caused a gas leak in the engine compartment that wasn't discovered until after the fact. After calling them about the leak, they arranged a tow truck, ordered parts and replaced the o-rings on the three remaining cylinders for me at no additional charge. Honest mechanics who care about their customers are hard to come by. I encourage you to go visit Bill's!
