This place is ridiculous, I had a rental reservation done a week before my actually date to pick up I show up to pick up the car and they tell me that they don’t have the car for me that there aren’t any cars and that there corporate allows them to over book, I wasn’t even offered a different car or anything this place is ridiculous and there attitudes are disgusting!

**Review of Budget Avis Car Rental Experience**My recent interactions with Budget Avis Car Rental have compelled me to share my experiences, which have been consistently disappointing, to say the least. This review specifically highlights a particularly troubling visit that epitomizes the ongoing issues I've faced with this establishment.The customer service at Budget Avis Car Rental, unfortunately, leaves much to be desired. On multiple occasions, I've encountered problems that seem to stem primarily from the staff's attitude and an inexplicable inclination towards creating unnecessary delays. These issues appear to be power plays rather than genuine attempts at providing quality service. My latest visit was the most disconcerting of all, largely due to an encounter with an employee named Lisa.From the moment I walked in, Lisa's demeanor was off-putting. She exhibited an air of superiority, bossing around her colleagues as if she owned the place. Her conduct not only created an uncomfortable atmosphere but also seemed to undermine the professionalism expected in a customer service setting. The situation escalated when she made an unsolicited and inappropriate comment comparing her birthday to my wife's, insinuating that hers was "better." Such remarks, whether intended as a joke or not, are utterly unacceptable and reflect poorly on the company's standards of customer interaction.Moreover, Lisa's approach to upselling—attempting to manipulate us into paying extra for our dog by insinuating that we were lying—was unprofessional and disrespectful. The primary expectation from a car rental service is to facilitate the rental process efficiently and respectfully. Unfortunately, this was far from what we experienced.The culmination of our visit was when I inquired if everything was set for us to depart, to which Lisa responded with a "no," implying a jest that we were somehow not in good standing. This level of service is not only frustrating but also insulting. Upon asking for her name, she initially replied with "trouble," further exemplifying her lack of professionalism and respect for customers.It's perplexing how someone with such an attitude is placed in a position of authority within a customer service environment. Lisa's behavior not only reflects poorly on her but also on the management that upholds such standards. It's disheartening, especially considering the respect I hold for the owner, a veteran whose service I deeply appreciate. However, respect for leadership does not negate the importance of respect for customers.This experience has solidified my decision to seek car rental services elsewhere in the future. The industry is competitive, and many companies understand the value of treating customers with the respect and professionalism they deserve. It's a basic principle that seems to be overlooked by Budget Avis Car Rental, at least at the location I visited.In conclusion, my advice to potential customers is to consider your options carefully. There are numerous car rental services available that prioritize customer satisfaction and respect. Unfortunately, based on my experiences, Budget Avis Car Rental is not among them.

Sign on the counter about how not to yell at them if the car you reserved isn’t there tells you everything you need to know. Who discloses upfront we are likely not going to serve you as expected and don’t blame or yell at us for it. No accountability or desire to improve is what that spells. Very poor servicing model. I reserved a full size car. She had a slew of cars outside yet told me they were electric and all she had was a white Kia sportage. Since Kia was good on gas I took it. Otherwise did not want to travel 1200 miles in an suv. Her behavior was strange not making eye contact etc. I came right out and asked if the car had any reported problems. I told her I had a very long drive to make. She replied not to her knowledge. I left at 3am that night for my trip to find the front right speaker out. The service maintenance indicator kept coming and a day later I found the back seat cup holder gross with some sort of white substance spill all over it. I called the toll free number to extend one day to see my daughter off for her flight and got a quote including extension fee of 198.00. I returned the car and they rang me out absent of communicating anything about the final charges. I look at the receipt and saw my card was charged 220.00. I asked why. She said it was the extension fee. I told her the extension fee was 10.00, already quoted by customer service and included in the 198.00 quote for five days. She looks at the receipt and tells the guy to go into the computer, write over the amount and he prints a receipt for 198.00. No idea what she did after I left but she was determined to charge me more. The next day my Amex had a pending charge for 349.00. Not to mention when I gave her my card for security deposit I only gave her my credit card because she said the security deposit was 200.00 and 350 to use my debit. This woman secured my credit card for 350 anyway. I called corporate immediately after seeing what she did to my card and they took the charges all the way down to 154.00. That was the original charge minus the extra day. I wouldn’t return here even for a free car. This place is biased. That sign is there because they don’t give you the car you reserve. They give cars according to their choosing. Read the reviews and you’ll understand…If someone rents a van, it’s because they need a damn van. To put them into a Hyundai Elantra spells poor management. There are people who need jobs. They should be stopped.

People were very quick and kind at this location. Had no issues extending my rental multiple times online. Car was clean and in good shape when I received it. Drop off was also super easy. Can be pricey without promo codes, but no more expensive than other comparable rental companies.

Visited the Friday afternoon before vacation to pick up vehicle and several people were waiting. Attendant shared that Budget reserved more vehicles than they had available and we had to downgrade from a small SUV to a 4-door sedan to ensure a vehicle but they didn't adjust the price down. To complicate matters more their system went down and they had to hand write agreements. Guess we were lucky to get something but I've been using this location for 2 years and they started out great but the service has been slowly declining.

Manager does not care about customers. An item was left in a vehicle and I tried calling the location this morning before they rented the car out again. Phone lines routes directly to budge customer service head office and they said to fill out a form. There is no form, and the website does not even recognize Winston-Salem. I go to the location and the manager said "phones have been down for 3 weeks". No recourse, no care, has a smirk on his face. Not to mention he talks to the employees who wash cars like they are not humans. Would never recommend.

Went to pick up 2 mini vans that were reserve a month ahead. Got there in the a.m and was told no vehicles. They close at 2 p.m. and Nobody even called to say anything. This was a family trip of 11 people . It was a good thing I made 2 reservations because they done this before. Had to drive 40 minutes to go elsewhere. This place is no good.

Don't use this rental agency if you own pets or are going somewhere where you might get pet hair on yourself. They were going to charge me $450 for a pet cleaning fee because of a handful of pet hair on one seat from our pants. Completely ridiculous. I have never experienced this type of BS and I have been renting cars for 30 years.

We arrived and were told we would be getting a Honda Odyssey for our family of four. Then the lady behind the counter gave it to a single man behind us in line and we were left with a Hyundai Elantra car for our Florida trip with kids. After returning it I got charged $512.91 instead of the $396.91 that was on my receipt. I called and was told the car was considered filthy because of crumbs from my children and some mud on the side of the door. They said it was on the agreement but I read over my copy and it does NOT state that on the paper I signed nor was anything mentioned except for fuel policy which we followed. I would have gladly spent $10 or less vacuuming the car and wiping the door had I known I'd be charged over $100 more for something so simple. I will absolutely never use Budget again, clearly it's all about the money and they have no care for their customers at the Hanes Mall location.

I'm so so with this place, it's a lot of good and bad points. All I can say is make sure everything is explained to u BEFORE u pull off with your car. Do not extend the car, I repeat do not extend your rental, just ordered a new car, it's much easier.

Had a great experience at this location. My Budget rental car from GSO was flashing a TPMS sensor alert on our second day. I noticed this location at the mall and stop by. The front desk staff especially chris, took care of me, checked the tire pressure and cleared the sensor alert. Ended up being some of the tires were over inflated and one needed some air. Again, thanks to Chris for getting me taken care of and back on the road in less than 10 minutes.

Read all of the one-star reviews and was ready to be treated poorly (and be a pain in the butt to corporate until receiving a response). But everything went well, especially on such a bad weather day.Would suggest making the reservation a week ahead of time, checking in online and then going in person prepared. One star off because of the lack of floor mats which, apparently, is normal.We took a video of the vehicle to make note of any dings or scratches in the event of a problem on return. We’ll see how things finish up.
