Great place for kids

So wish it was better. We've been there a few times, and not much has changed over the past 3-4 years. I spoke to a woman who said that years ago, it was amazing. With updated exhibits, a caretaker for the animals, a real gift shop, etc... She said they used to have fundraisers regularly as well. Seems that whoever manages the facility has not put much effort in the place for quite some time. Wilson could use a nicer place. Now, it just seems sad, dark, and with little to no money used for updates. The reptile area, although signs say sorry for the mess, never seem to really change. I feel sorry for all the snakes, turtles, and lizards.Hoping for some improvements, but doesn't look like that is going to happen. We have the annual membership, but after this year I think we won't be renewing.Too bad.

Nothing spectacular but a good way to kill an hour and let the kids get out some energy. I remember coming here as a kid and the place is just not the same. The race an animal exhibit was down, which was always my favorite. The animal cages are sad and it doesn't seem like much new is being added or updated. My daughter had the most fun on the first level, trying out the workout equipment.I wouldn't recommend for middle school aged kids or older

A few of the interactive exhibits were malfunctioning, but my children enjoyed it anyway. It was on our way home from a vacation destination and we got in free with a reciprocal membership so it was worth the stop for sure.

My kids love it! The down stairs is a blast and my kids could play there for hours. I just feel bad for some of the animals upstairs as their habitats are pretty sad and small. The 3rd floor history area is definitely too much reading for the younger kids.

Several things for the children to interact with but it is a very underutilized building. Should really not charge for the adults to go through as there is absolutely nothing for the adults to do here.Several of the interactive elements were not functioning.I would only recommend this place if you have children under 10 with you.

They have a few really cool exhibits but overall it isn't the best place. I do think it is more for kids as their interactive exhibit (Body-ology) is kid-sized.My husband and I enjoyed the animal and history floors. We really thought the bee hive was SUPER cool. It's definitely not a bad way to spend an hour or two for $6.

I haven’t been to the museum itself but yall had a worker at the Wizarding World of Wilson this weekend (Saturday AM) handling a snake named Athena and I just want to say they were phenomenal! Extremely knowledgeable and patient while my kids asked questions and helped them conquer their fears without pressure. It was such a great experience and we will definitely go to the museum itself next time we are in Wilson!

The kids had fun but got bored pretty quickly. I'd love to see this place get some grants for some much needed upgrades! This museum could be an absolute gem if the state would invest in it! The staff working was pretty disinterested in engaging with us, which was a shame. They had the perfect opportunity to bring the exhibits to life if they would come around and interact with the guests and kids a little and maybe explain some of the things that are there for some of us science illiterate parents. I plan to go back after doing research so I can teach my grandchildren about the stuff there. Even the animal exhibits had minimal information. This place has so much potential!

I have so many thoughts after leaving this place…..So we stopped here randomly after visiting Its a Zoo Life (highly recommend!). I was happy to see a kids museum within a close distance, but a bit worried because we only had 1.5 hours to get thru it. That wouldn’t end up being an issue at all.It was Saturday at 330 when we got there, and there was one other family there. The first floor is the “interactive” section. It was extremely dark, which was super weird. Like they had several overhead lights but only a handful of them were turned on in the whole downstairs space. There was one spot where you could upcycle garbage into creations, a hanging globe, several workout equipment pieces (many if which didn’t work), a virtual reality station (that you had to be 7 years old to try, and a small side room with flat wood blocks. The bee exhibit was not there. And that was it.The second floor was even weirder! There were maybe 15 reptiles in a weird circle. Their cages were a sad site. They have a massive snake inside a small cage with only a bowl of water. Their bearded dragon basically the same length of the cage it was in. Then. There looked to be a room with birds, but there was a sign that said not to go in this area. There were also several hallways and locked doors that led to nothing. It was like half the space was used for the museum and half wasn’t.So onto the third floor…and it just gets weirder the higher we go. It’s the history section….but it’s basically empty. There’s a bench, a fake fire, a tv, a fake tree, and some pictures on the wall. Also several hallways and doors that are not actually part of the museum. In summary….Not what I expect from a children's museum at all! Not worth the money. Very dark and eery overall. It was like someone bought a beautiful building and didn’t know what to do with half of it…so they threw in some exercise equipment and some lizards and called it a museum.Bananas.

I had heard such good things about the Imagination Station in Wilson I decided to take my grandchildren there for an outing since they had never been. As we walked up to the entrance there is a dinasaur. The kids loved it but it could definitely use a fresh coat of paint. The gentleman at the front desk was very nice and helpful describing the 4 floors so we would know what we were doing. The first and 2nd floors were definitely entertaining for the kiddos. They loved the area on the 1st floor where they could race lights that moved at the speed of animals. They also loved the weighted scales and exercise machines. The 2nd floor is reptiles which the boys loved! From there it went downhill...the 3rd floor is the history of wilson which may be good for adults but not young kids. The 4th floor we found out was administrative offices so we couldn't go on that floor. In the foyer there are two kaleidoscopes and the kids absolutely loved those.. At $6 per person I was a little disappointed but the kids seemed to be happy so that's what matters.

Lots of stuff for the kids to do and learn! Reasonable prices and the guy running the animal exhibit on the second floor is amazingly friendly and great with the kids
