This is a review on the Walgreens at 17th St.I was hoping the poor service was just at the Oleander location, but apparently Walgreens greedy corporate won't hire enough ppl or pay enough to get needed medicine dispensed in a timely manner.Used to be a great pharmacy. Not anymore. And OMG their automation makes you want to slit your wrists.

I would not recommend this Pharmacy AT ALL. First, they are slow and they don't care about it. There are long waits in the in-store line, and customers constantly complain loud enough where I know the staff can hear it, but they do not acknowledge it -- they just ignore it. Even more frustrating, is how they handle controlled substance prescriptions. I have one of those prescribed to me, and I was leaving the country for three weeks and had my prescription written in a way such that it is legal in the state of North Carolina. However, they refused to fill the prescription stating that it was a week too early and the DEA wouldn't allow it. When I had my doctor call them to approve/authorize the prescription, Courtney, the pharmacist there, was very rude to me in front of my children and said she even though my Doctor authorized and assured its legal, she still "was not comfortable" filling the prescription and for me to get it filled wherever I was traveling too (Um, I can't do that overseas!). When I told my doctor what the Pharmacist told me, they told me to push back and make a complaint because Pharmacists do not have the legal authority to deny a prescription authorized by a Doctor. When I came back to ask for a manager, guess who it was? It was Courtney again! After I told her what my doctor said, then her response changed from "I'm not comfortable filling this" to "I'm sorry, we're all out of the medication you've been prescribed." After asking if that was true, why didn't they say that in the first place, they said it's because "They didn't know until now". Overall, this is a really frustrating place to get your prescriptions filled, they don't care about your time or opinion, and they play God with who's prescription they fill and who's they do not, and they rudely treat you like you're some drug addict! District Management needs to come to this pharmacy and clean house.

Pharmacy service is slow to process, and impossible to reach someone via telephone. They'll ask you to wait while they are \\\"working\\\" on your script and while you have a seat. When ready, they announce over a barely audible PA speaker that you cannot hear in the waiting area opposed to notify you like a human in person. Then, you have to get in line a second time behind however many people, my case today 5 others, to pick up the script. Lol, and as im waiting in line, their automated system just called me. Edit 10/23/2020 - DONT USE THIS PHARMACY if you actually need medications. Called in a refill the night prior, go to pick up after work at 5pm to find no Walgreens in the area have the medication, after being told it would be ready at 11am.

Vet offices have better inventory of medications for animals than a local Walgreens does for people. SAD!

Too bad one cannot leave negative stars. Why advertise and bombard the various media begging for new customers when you treat us like dirt when we show up. The pharmacist refused to contact my physician, and it was only because she did not want to make the slightest effort. It wasn't illegal or anything, but her time is more important to her than a doctor's or even a customer's. They can sell everything from soup to nuts in this backwards store, but cannot dispense a benign prescription. The sooner they close this store, the better off the community will be. This was the pharmacy on College Road in Wilmington, NC, but I wouldn't trust a single one of the Walgreens/CVS stores.

CLOSE this is the worse Pharmacy in the state, they are RUDE to customers by WALKING AWAY after waiting for 15 minutes and when you complain to the store manager she does not apologize. instead of taking over RITE AIDE in wilmington, they should have taken over WALGREENS they were 1000 times better
