Rooms smelled funny, breakfast was mediocre. Despite the two rooms we had being non smoking they clearly had been smoked in and smelled old. We had to switch rooms but not much better there. Breakfast was nowhere close to what most staybridge hotels offer - we had to get food elsewhere.
Bed was comfy and room was well furnished. Just smelled old and unclean.
Nearby activities: 15 minutes from the beach and dog friendly.

The location is great and close to many restaurants and beaches. The room was fine but needed some upgrades and better cleaning. I found black spots all over the bathroom ceiling and also trash that hadn't been emptied out. Everytime I needed something I had to come down to the lobby because they didn't have anyone to bring up towels/toilet paper. The breakfast was decent but the entire stay (5 days) the lobby, elevators, and hallways had no aircondition. Not sure if the AC was not working only on the first floor but it was super humid in the sitting area for breakfast.

Watch out for charges on your credit card. I booked week for this hotel. I booked this room with a pet which I know is a charge. When I know there is a deposit of $50 that you get back at the end of your stay. So I had a pending charge of $50 and $29.50 for what I do not know. At the end of my stay my credit card got charged $79.50. Then 10 days I get charged $5.25. I call them up and they do not know why there was 2 separate charges. They tell me the only thing they know is pet fees are $84.75. They need their accounting people to look closely to their charging there.

This was a great stay for the night in a great location. Leighton provided the best customer service I’ve experienced during check in and check out. We highly recommend staying here.

Nice clean rooms, some doors were a little busted though. Pet friendly and staff is super friendly, from cleaning to front desk, thanks Sebastian! Awesome breakfast every morning.
Walkability: Not much but super centers within walking distance

Walking in on our first night, two bugs were crawling on our counter. Another night, it was a cochroach, we didnt even have food on the ground or out, etc. Called the front desk, was told an exterminator would come, and they never did. A few days later, we got a call saying they'd be on property that day from 11-3 and would spray. Again, they didn't. Another few nights later, spiders & other bugs. At this point, we gave up and were ready to go home. There were clothes left in the dresser, assuming from someone before us, and the floors/bathroom weren't clean. Wasn't told the disposal didn't work and metal flew out within two seconds. I definitely wouldn't let other family members stay here or recommend. Got home and immediately washed everything. Disappointing trip for how much I spent for a seven night stay on vacation. Need better customer service and better cleanliness. I'm sure I'm forgetting something else.

My mom is in a wheelchair. We booked a room 6 weeks in advance, through the front desk not a 3rd party), for a wheelchair accessible room. We know to do it this way because sometimes things can get lost through 3rd party companies. When we arrived at the hotel we were told the room was not wheelchair accessible. We were given every excuse in the book as to why WE might have been WRONG in our booking. The lady finally told us if we went through the front desk there would be a record of who we spoke with. She looked it up and it was her. Kudos to her for admitting that. She said the person the following day should have called to tell us they did not have any more wheelchair accessible rooms available. She said another room wouldn't be available until Friday which was far after we were to be checking out. This was a holiday weekend, we had no back up plans. We went to several other hotels before finding a hotel that not only apologized on this one's behalf and how difficult that experience was, but also went out of their way to ensure we were in a room my mom could navigate. Shout out to the Hilton Garden Inn, we could not recommend them enough to everyone. So disappointed in the service we received at the Staybridge. We understand our situation is difficult to accommodate which is why we plan in advance and confirm along the way that we are in an accommodating room. We understand mistakes happen but for there to be little to no apology… I really hope it never happens to someone else.
Full transparency, this place was our preferred place to stay when in the area. We had a great experience the previous time with the same individual at the front desk. More than anything really just hoping that yall take a little more concern with individuals who require special accommodations knowing full well there are limited rooms that accommodate them and its not as easy for them to find something else should things like this happen.

Nice hotel. It's nice to have a Suite and Evening Wine/Beer but advertised "delicious " appetizers were not. Improvements needed, 1st night was cheese, cold cuts and crackers (minus the crackers).
Staff...especially Bartender went out of her way to please.
Food and drinks: Beer & Wine
Food could improve including breakfast.

Booked a one room stay at the Staybridge Suites Wrightsville Beach (booked on 3/13/24). Checking in today & checking out tomorrow.Staying with my mother and my son so my husband can surprise my son with a quick bedroom renovation while we are gone.I received a call at 8:17 this morning waking me to the front desk woman saying she would be cancelling my reservation for tonight (7 hours before check in) because they do not rent to locals. Even though I booked the room a month ago…Then when I tried to refuse the cancellation in a haze of just being woken up by the two back to back calls from this number (first one I slept through, the 2nd woke me up & I answered) the front desk person became very hostile. It was such terrible and blunt customer service that I genuinely thought that I was being pranked. As I started to wake up a bit I regrouped and asked the person on the phone if I could please have their first and last name. With this ask the employee hung up on me while repeating over me that “we don’t rent to locals, hotel policy”.I sat there for a moment at a total loss & called back. The number listed online for the hotel was not the number that called me. Again, more confusion. So I called the number listed on Google for the hotel. This is when I found out that the person working the front desk, finally told me their name was Jasmine, was the one that called to cancel my reservation. She at this point told me it was already cancelled with the hotel. I took a breath explaining we’re having work done in my son’s room with no where to stay and have planned this visit far in advance. I heard this Jasmine person ask somebody if they can give me back the reservation because I’m having work done, and I can hear the other hotel employee rudely state “yea right, on a Sunday?”Too much I had to explain that my husband’s a contractor, and this was a plan surprise to extend my son’s loft bed while we were enjoying a hotel stay. After more discussion I was told they finally decided to “do me a favor and make an exception” for us. Totally blown away at not only the abrupt cancellation, the fact that I pretty much had to beg to keep a room I already booked and paid for almost a full month ago, AND THEN when I tell them the reason is due to a home renovation I get mocked because “it’s a Sunday”. What is actually happening over there??After I got off the phone with Jasmine at the front desk, I called the IHG 1-800 number the customer service rep had no clue of this policy, did not see it anywhere on their website, but did see where they had previously canceled my reservation and then reinstated it a few minutes later. Joy, the representative on the phone was so confused by this, but asked if I minded being put on hold and give me a disclaimer that it may take a while being Sunday that they needed to check with higher management. After quite a while on hold, Joy came back to inform me that there is no such policy in writing or stated on the website and they’ve never had this situation brought to their attention. She actually filed an incident claim gave me a reference number and told me somebody would be following up with me.What was supposed to be just a fun little surprise for my kid has become a nightmare. My check-in is in two hours and my anxiety is through the roof. Are they going to spoil the surprise in front of my son when we get there? Are they going to turn us away? Are rates going to suddenly be tripled because they didn’t want to give me the room even through I paid the day I booked…a month ago?!? Never in my life have I had a hotel experience like this. I’ve been an IHG member since 2016, I’m a gold member owner with RCI. We travel a minimum of once a month and I have just never been treated like this at any location with any company. Especially in my own hometown.
