Went in on a Saturday to pick up a couple of sport coats and shirts. Pretty crowded, but Taylor was quick to help! He juggled multiple customers, helped me pick out what I needed, and got me out of there quickly! Thank you Taylor!!

Just had a terrible shopping experience at this store. The saleman(or that's what I think he was) was rude and condescending. We were there to purchase a suit for a funeral. He approached us, wearing jeans and a ugly Hawaiian looking shirt. He hadn't shaved in weeks. He honestly looked homeless. Anyway, he showed us some suits in the color we preferred. When my wife started looking at a specific jacket, he said " those are our $800 suits, you don't want that." He was implying that we couldn't afford it. I made sure to tell him that money wasn't an issue. So we reluctantly bought a suit from him. During checkout, he didn't speak. When we were done I said "thank you". His reply was "ok, who is next?" Shouldn't he be the one saying thank you to me for just spending $600 in the store? So my advice, avoid the Wilmington Jos A Banks, or at least the gray headed looking bum that works there. He's a pathetic sight, and an even worse salesman. We bought ONLY because we had a funeral to attend. We will shop elsewhere in the future. Oh and by the way, we could indeed afford your $800 suits, several of them if we cared to, if we had a salesman with at least minimal people skills. I'm glad that you talked us out of it, Mr. Homeless looking salesman. Advice: if you're going to sell men's suits for a living, at least wear one yourself.
07/27/2024 - Follow up on my review. I received a phone call from the store manager. I believe he was attempting to apologize, but it just didn't work. I told him that we had just lost our daughter and I was shopping for a suit for her funeral. He offered no condolences at all, and his apology was insincere. This store obviously cares only about the almighty dollar, of which they got almost $600 from me. My advice is the same, avoid this store if you want a pleasant, appreciative shopping experience.

Really helpful as I needed a suit, shirt, shoes, and a belt for a funeral. (Because of the quality I’ll be able to use it many more years!!

This was my second visit to Jos A Bank at Mayfaire and I worked with Taylor both times so this is a 5 star review for Taylor x2. Taylor is incredibly knowledgeable with the options available and he asked about my needs for the two occasions. Both times he found me great deals off the discount rack that were of great quality for the price. Taylor’s attention to details is superb and he makes it an enjoyable experience. He provides that exceptional old fashioned tailor customer service (with the tape measure and the different styles of suits/shirts) and he knows where everything is in the store. I will definitely be going back to work with Taylor in the future. I’d suggest to anyone that had a bad experience to try again when Taylor is working and your experience will be 1000% better. Thanks again Taylor!

I arrived at the store to find two sales associates and two customers inside. I decided to browse while the associates assisted their customers. One associate asked me if I needed help. I told him I was looking for a tie and possibly a shirt. He informed me that the ties that I was looking at were long ties and 3" longer than regular ties. I'm 6'2" so that was no problem. I found a tie and shirt to purchase and waited at the counter while they continued to assist their customers. One of them appeared to be done with his customer. He walked behind the counter briefly and returned to the back of the store never acknowledging me. The other associate finished up with his customer and ignored me and greeted a young lady that had just walked in the store. He knew that I had been at the counter waiting patiently for more than 15 minutes. Just to make sure that I was not invisible, I asked another customer if they could see me. They laughed and said "I see you. "
At this point, I laid the shirt and tie on the counter and left the store. I don't know the reason for the treatment that I received, but it convinced me that this was my first and last visit to Jos A. Bank Mayfaire location. I'm a minister and I was dressed nicely (better than the other customers in the store.) I don't deserve to be ignored, overlooked or disrespected. I guess my money was not good enough for you today. Now, I must inform the friend who recommended this establishment to me of how I was treated. Thanks, but no thanks. I'm not the one.

Great place to buy suits from, but please for the love of god DO NOT get anything tailored through them. I don’t know who they use, but they are awful at their job. Took me 2 months to get something they said would be done in two weeks. Then when I go to pick it up the pants don’t even fit right and were extremely tight. Left them to get re-tailored, but it’s like they didn’t even do anything. They are still way too tight and don’t fit right. I’ll be getting them tailored elsewhere now so I don’t waste any more of my time. Again, DO NOT GET ANYTHING TAILORED HERE GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!! Waste of $500.

Tony S. helped us in the Mayfaire location NC - he was incredibly knowledgable and prepared in selecting the perfect suit for our occasion- also provided recommendation of a reputable tailor.
We truly appreciated his attention to detail, and how comfortable he made us feel after we had a horrible experience in a different men’s store. Thank you, Tony!!

Been here multiple times and we tried to get a mistake fixed with a rental order. He said “good luck at prom” and hung up. Go somewhere else literally anywhere else bro. Manager named Noah was the one who was rude and hung up.

Getting rentals set up was easy, however, we bought the grooms suit. We went in for the first fitting in February, and they said 2 weeks. Went back in March to get the suit and they didn’t do the leg tapering like we wanted - they said no problem, pinned them and promised they’d be done the following Monday. Went the following Wednesday, still had pins in them - not even touched. They offered an apology and said they’d be done in 2 weeks. Went back just over 2 weeks later… still not touched. We’re now two weeks out from the wedding, with pants that haven’t been fixed and neither the store nor customer service reps are willing to help mitigate the issue. The suit looks nice but I’d look elsewhere for alterations or plan for 5-6 months instead of the 1-2 months they tell you to plan for.

Highly recommend this JAB. Wanted to give a shoutout to the gentlemen who helped me. Unfortunately, I did not catch his name, but he was a dapper young man in his mid-20s working on Sunday evening (10 Dec). Very friendly and helpful in helping me pick out a topcoat. They will also gladly match any online sale! Had a great experience here.

Taylor at the store was awesome, had a mix up at the dry cleaner where I got the wrong jacket back. He got me hooked up in minutes right before a wedding!
