After spending over $800 on mower repairs, I can say that this place sucks. They took my mower, which was working fine when I gave it to them, and killed it. I was just looking for a seasonal tune up. What they returned was a mower that does not work. Runs for about 3 minutes and quits. They tried to blame it on ME. They said I must have tipped the mower over... nope. They said it was bad gas... nope, I used premium gas... buyer beware when going to this place. They do not stand by their work, and they don't return calls from unsatisfied customers. I do not at all recommend this place.

James has made owning my riding mower a much more enjoyable experience! He services it every March (worth every penny) and is always very responsive to any issues I may have throughout the year. I find him to be honest and fair in his prices, and always willing to go above and beyond to help. This man's a Godsend for a 70 year-old!!

We got our riding lawn mower serviced here and a few months later it stopped working. We emailed the owner what was happening and he was very unhelpful. He suggested draining the gas and putting new gas in. Didn't work. My neighbor came over to take a look at it and said he way overcharged us for the service. The fuel line shutoff he installed didn't work (fuel leaked out even when shutoff was set to closed) and the engine would not work. My neighbor figured out the problem and basically rebuilt our engine for $100 bucks but said that he pretty much had to redo all the work that was done before and fix an issue that was previously unidentified. I emailed the owner a second time about the issues and he just never responded. I bet this guy does a good job on routine issues with your mower but if you suspect there is a major problem then spend you money on a more knowledgable service technician or at least someone who can respond to your concerns in a valid manner.

After leaving gas in a new generator for too long and having starting issues I contacted this business for help. Basically I needed the carburetor cleaned. I was charged two hours of "labor" to drain my gas tank and put in fresh spark plugs... two things I had just done the week prior. Not a single bit of improvement. I took the gen apart myself and cleaned the carburetor... wouldn't you know; it runs perfect now. This business was a complete waste of time and money.

James was very friendly. He did excellent work on my John Deere riding mower, and with a quick turnaround. It is 17 years old, and James at ILM Small Engine Repair has is running and mowing like new again. Very reasonable price. I am happy with the service I received, and would highly recommend them.

My 2 year old Craftsman push lawn mower died on me for no reason. I called and James told me to bring it right in and he could look at it. I brought it in around noon and it was up and running beautifully a few hours later. He is fairly priced, a gentlemen and knows his business well. I highly recommend anyone bringing their lawn equipment to James!

I spent $120 to get aLawnmower fixed. And I gave him another lawnmower that he could use for parts. He gave me a $10 discount for the lawnmower. I got the one he fixed back and It barely ran and two of the wheels were not repaired. I called him immediately. Within the 30 days. So I had to send the lawnmower back because the wheel fell off and it would barely start. Instead of fixing it for a reasonable price he charges me another $75 for 2 wheels and a air filter??!! No wonder he’ll only warrantee his work for 30 days. It was terrible! When I asked him why it wasn’t covered for the first $120 he became argumentative like it’s my fault that I broke two wheels and ruined the machine twice having used it?! He took advantage of a single mom during a pandemic that was just trying to get an old lawnmower fixed. I will go to MDM - his Family business is courteous and the work is excellent.

I bought a riding lawnmower for $550 a few weeks ago and have used it exactly once. I went to crank today and it would not turn over. I called james and after asking me questions he said I would have to bring it by. I said that I don't have a trailer and he offered to pick it up for a fee. No thanks. If I have to pay to get it fixed, I'll have some one else come get it.
