“My husband and I were “test driving” theater style recliners. We visited several other stores before we went to Ashley on Carolina Beach Road. John was with another customer but greeted us and pointed us in the right direction. When he finished with his customer he joined us to see how he could help. Very personable and knowledgeable with no hard sell tactics. We were so impressed with the comfort and style of the two seater for our FROG (my husbands ‘man cave’) that we bought the sofa as well for our living room (since we spend much of our time there together). John explored all Options for best pricing and explained additional savings with a deferred interest card. Needless to say we were quite pleased and purchased both. Looking forward to its delivery in a few weeks! If you visit the store for your own needs ask for John for the best shopping experience !”

“Updated 10-4-24:We just received our La-Z-Boy PowerReclineXR+. We ordered it 1½ months ago, and had it customized to our liking, with motorized headrest, lumbar support, rocking, wireless remote and grey woven fabric. It's really nice, and does everything it's supposed to do, well. It's very quiet too. Our sales person, Pat, did a great job finding the right unit for us. She was easy to talk to, and there was no pressure.
The delivery, coming out of Raleigh, went very well also. They informed us when it would arrive, with a 2 hour window. Their delivery app showed the route the truck was taking on Google Maps. The delivery was within 5 minutes of their their suggested time.
The 2 delivery men, JR and Dante, took out the old chair and set up the new one perfectly. They were very good and efficient, and were careful not to damage our wood floors.
If we have any more furniture needs, we'll go back to Pat at the Wilmington store.

AND ABSOLUTELY, check Google Map customer reviews for each store. Some stores have some pretty shady practices. Read about how some people have been gouged by the dishonest stores.”

They actually had some pumpkins by Luke Adams (have always wanted one) and found one that I just had to have! “The store has been newly rearranged! I love it. Mostly all of the nautical items have been brought to the left front of the store, the boutique remains in the same right front section. The floral desk and all the supplies are in the middle 2nd building. The majority of the furniture is in the very back. Awesome placement of the different sections with the same great customer service and choices of items!? This is one of my happy places!”

Whatever room you want to furnish or decorate, I'll bet you a nickel, you'll find something here you'll love. Choose from accent furniture, wall art & mirrors, décor, lamps & lighting, seating, kitchen, dining, office, bedroom and outdoor furniture, jewelry, plants, and more. Most of the inventory is high end, but we found a few hard to beat bargains. We spent just $31 and walked out with a set of two pretty wooden serving plates, a coral art wall hanging, and three distressed white picture frames. We were thrilled with the quality and value of our purchases. An interesting feature of their pricing policy is that just about everything had three prices, so the longer something stays in stock, the lower the price drops. Customer service is phenomenal. We had a wonderful chat with owner Jeannie Bethel, who was a real joy as she talked about her store, where the inventory comes from, and about Wilmington in general. We also had a great experience with Sharon Feiler who rang us up, meticulously wrapped our glass purchases, and chit chatted about the store. If we lived nearby, we'd most definitely be regulars.”

“We recently went to Ethan Allen thinking we wanted to buy a sectional sofa for our living room. We worked with Lisa Hurley and she was outstanding! She walked us through the store looking at different sofas, had us try out several different cushions to help us find what most comfortable and was fantastic at helping us choose a fabric. She has a great eye for color and gave honest opinions on wear and durability. After coming home to measure and think things over, we decided a sectional wasn’t right for our space and went back the next day with a new plan. I let Lisa know in advance and she had everything ready for us when we walked into the showroom. She helped us come up with a gorgeous design, and we can’t wait to see the result! Aside from her excellent design advice, Lisa is also extremely personable! It felt as if we were spending time with a friend, who just happened to be a design expert!”

“Everything is bogo, so you only pay for half of what you pick out. Friendly staff and decently organized shop with large sections of clothes for $1 or less. Can’t beat that! I found j crew pajamas, vintage gold label Victoria’s Secret (not worth a ton but something I love to find), and a Lucky Brand dress. They had a TON of records.”

“I purchased several sets of curtains (many different styles) decorative pillows, chair pads and bedspreads, shams and a dust ruffle. I love the quality of the material used. I’ve had some of my curtains for over 30 years and they still look amazing. I will admit, my last order was a little weird and I didn’t think I would receive my chair pads. Dorothy kept telling me they were almost done, I should be getting them soon, they were shipped........ I kept calling and Dorothy would always answer assuring me I would get them. Finally about 6 months later I received them in the mail and they are beautiful. I need another bedspread, but I don’t know how to contact them. I hope she is still in business.”
“My wife wanted a single bowl kitchen sink but the home we bought had double stainless steel In granite countertop. We started our search and from the first conversation it became obvious to me this company was interested in helping even though we were not buying a new granite top. They explained how they work and said they would fits us in. They did and the results were perfect. The crew came on time, got to work cutting out the new space and cleaned up afterwards.”

“D Baxter is fantastic. They've repaired lamps for me since 2019, when I started taking them lamps damaged in Hurricane Florence, plus one hurricane-damaged brass chandelier (maybe 50-70 years old), and another lamp just recently. Every single item was meticulously repaired. They explained the problem clearly and made repairs promptly -- no small feat following a natural disaster. All of the lamps were given to me by family members, including my mother, so Baxter's care and attention was invaluable to me. I can't imagine going anywhere else. Prices are very reasonable, too! Thank you, Baxter's, so much. Five stars, A+++. 10 out of 10.”

After searching in vain for a long time for just the right chairs to go on our back deck, I finally found what I was looking for at DFG. Kudos to Nick and Kelsey for going above and beyond to make my wife's birthday extra special this year. Very fair pricing, excellent service. I particularly appreciated that Nick gave me the option to save the delivery fee by coming to pick up the chairs myself, which I was happy to do. We will definitely be back.”
