Oh my goodness, so glad we visited here! I've been a Mary Ellen Golden fan for many decades and was thrilled to see this gallery not only still open but thriving! We were fortunate to find the one print we wanted, last one available, and met her son, John, who is also a talented artist and musician. An overall fabulous experience where virus safety protocols were in place and enforced. Highly recommend this one of a kind gallery.

Amazing gallery full of wonderful history and lovely art. Had a nice time chatting with Mrs. Golden about the history of downtown and I bought some wonderful prints of the area. Highly recommend.

Mary Ellen Golden is the best, I love visiting her at the gallery. I buy prints for each of my clients as closing gifts for their new homes, they are a huge hit. My clients love them and some of them even have a collection.

This is one of my favorite galleries in Wilmington, NC. The staff is always very friendly, courteous and extremely knowledgeable about their works. Oh my gosh, what's not to like? Mary Ellen Golden--what fine lady. She is gentle, kind, personable and a great Wilmington artist; you'd purchase her works just because you've met her. Did you know she was the 2016 artist for the Azalea Festival? I treasure her works.

I am in love with this gallery!! Located in the Cotton Exchange, I was amazed at all the watercolors and photographs from around the local area. Some of my favorites, John Golden's "The Rovinato Series" series. Love the textured look of the photos in this collection. Also be sure to check out the art blocks. Whimsical and fun! Mary Ellen's watercolors are gorgeous! And they really have a huge selection here. They also have jewelry by local artist Melissa Manley. This is my favorite shop in the Cotton Exchange!

The Golden Gallery is nestled inside one of the buildings at the Cotton Exchange. This is not so much an art store as an "artisan's" store. Fun place to look around and browse, but expensive... and probably rightly so because everything is supposed to be locally done. The artwork, whether prints or photographs, was generally interesting to look at, but the price tags made the items stay on the shelves. There was also a music section - CD's that I didn't really look at much. I was more interested in the prints and photos.
