Im unsure if management has changed or what is going on. For the past 20 years, our family has exclusively used Frame Outlet. We have always been pleased with their stellar work. Today I picked up a piece and was truly underwhelmed at the framework & matting. It took about 4-5 weeks for this to be completed. I called several times without return calls. In addition, the overall vibe in the shop is less friendly and nonchalant. Unfortunately, I will likely find a new shop and move on.

I would like to preface this review by saying that 2 of the women working in Frame Outlet were actually very nice and helpful. One the other hand, be wary of the one who either is the manager or thinks she is the manager (dark hair and glasses). She is nice until there is an issue then she becomes rather unprofessional and places the blame on you if you are not satisfied with how the framing turned out. In my case, I was not given an option for the glass and was given the cheapest version which has constant glares from any light and does not protect your artwork. I did not go to the Framework Outlet because it was an outlet, which one would assume to be cheaper. I went there as it was close to where I live and I have not lived in Wilmington long. She made the cheap assumption. All I wanted at first was to replace the glass and matt, which I had been steered to that color and it made the artwork look flat. I fully expected to have to pay for this. Then I noticed in the shop that the frame had been cut where almost 3/4ths of the frame was one color shade and the balance was another color. This is where the unprofessionalism kicked in. She even had the nerve to sarcastically tell the person who cuts the frames that I was just not happy with anything, and that is not what I had said. This was with me standing next to her. She does not believe that a customer has any right to not be happy as it would cost the shop more - the frame was definitely not my fault. When I got totally fed up with being treated this way and started to take my painting and leave she actually tried to stop the framer from trying to assure me that a solution would be found. She also got upset because she was waiting on me when a male customer came into the store. At that point, I told her to go on. Today when I went back to pick up my reframed artwork, there was a place on the front edge of the frame that had been nicked off... over an inch long. She tried to convince me that it was the way the wood was. There were no other nicks on the frame. There were no nicks on the previous frame. Then she claimed she had not made the sarcastic remark the time before. By the way, I did not receive the original glass that I had already paid for or the first matt. That the store kept though I had to pay full price for the new glass and matt. Needless to say, I will never be using this company again, which is sad as the other two ladies were lovely. I do have to agree with another reviewer that snippy and rude answers are given!

I’ve been getting things framed here for many years and I’ve always been very happy each time. Friendly people and good prices. The only place I go when I need something framed.

Frame Works did a fantastic job! They helped up pick out a more complementary frame than the one we had in mind, framed a huge canvas, and were able to drop it off. Their customer service was top notch. We’ll definitely be back.
