We were visiting Wilmington for the very first time. My cousin turned us on to this wonderful little shop. The owner was gracious enough to mail the chime I purchased to me in California. When I return to Wilmington, I will definitely visit.

Love the bracelet. Unfortunately, it was too big for my wife’s wrist, but Janet is working on that for me right now. She has taken measurements and sent photos of other bracelets that may be smaller to fit my wife better. She is truly going above and beyond. I will definitely tell others to check here first when looking for woodcraft items.

Delightful owner Jannett Vadies operates a terrific store offering many excellent and exotic items. We purchased "The Party Animals" a group of African animals in a party setting, hand carved in Kenya. My wife and I recently went on a safari in Kenya and this item is a great addition to our memories of that super experience! Highly recommend visiting Barouke anytime you are in Wilmington

I fell in love with the unique lamps featured in the beautiful store. I picked the base and copper shade I wanted. The owner, Jannett, encouraged me to make sure I had the perfect combination. Then she wrapped it carefully knowing it would be traveling with me to Florida. It’s now on my nightstand. Whenever I turn it on, I think of this lovely lady and Wilmington. A distinctive, handcrafted treasure I’ll have forever. Thank you, Jannett.

Last month while on vcation in Cape Fear, North Carolina, we visited Barouke, The Woodcrafters Gallery in Wilminton. We bought a beautiful hand made and signed wall clock. It was made of historic barn wood wih copper and brushed steel accents. A few weeks later we arrived back home, mounted the clock on the wall, and as luck would have it, our gorgeous clock was as dead as a doornail!
While we were sure we would have to ship it back to NC, we took a chance and called their phone #. The guy who answered the phone ws amazing! He spent nearly a half hour carefully guiding us step by step to check the mechanism and battery, connect the pendulum, re-set the time and mount the clock correctly on the wall. And even more amazing, our phone call was after 8PM in the evening! Try to get that kind of customer support at a big box store!

I love shopping in this store, they have the most unique and beautiful merchandise. Always helpful and knowledgeable about everything they sell as well as kind and courteous. I take all my house guests shopping there!!!!

I didn't even go in this store but a worker or owner of the shop kept staring at us with her arms folded and then followed us into another shop and complained that there were people "stealing". She also hovered while I paid for an item I bought from the other shop and was so close that she heard our conversation and even commented to the cashier about it. Rude and unfriendly.

Scam artist anything of value she will try and make you pay for twice or if you pay for an item with card and the owner will say you didn’t pay for it like she did me even tho I had proof money was taken out my account and she’s very temperamental

I purchased two rare goblets made by this company. They are retired goblets with the tags attached. These goblets are amazing. They're made of the hardest wood in the world. This company really focused on quality.

Absolutely delighted with my purchase from Barouke! I recently bought a wood tile top console table and I'm in love with it! The quality of the table is excellent, and it adds such a charming touch to my living space. The craftsmanship and attention to detail is quite evident. The shopping experience was smooth, and the staff was helpful and friendly. Looking forward to exploring more of their offerings in the future!

Nothing to do with the shop but the lady working there was super rude. We weren’t even there to shop, just walking around Wilmington. Don’t show up six minutes before she closes.

We just went to Barouke. We were impressed by the amount of handcraft and special items. We bought the turtle puzzle Gene highly recommended. He told us the story behind it all and we recognized he was really passionate about his items. Would recommend this store big time.Kind regards,Jasper( the Dutch customers,not German ?)
