Shopped here yesterday to support a local business after having a fabulous lunch across the st. Very unfriendly owner/employee insisted on following us around & taking our item to the front. Was annoyed when we changed our minds about purchasing the item that she brought to the front… instead of a new receipt she already filled in before we even came up to pay she crossed the receipt out & used the same one… I’m all for saving paper but the huff wasn’t necessary at all!!! I liked an item and asked how it worked she said follow me it’s in the front of store by the doors you would have seen it when you walked by… instead of explaining what the item was and considering the item was in the back of the store at this time when I spotted it she insisted on taking me to the front of the store to tell me that I should’ve already knew what it was …. Will never shop here again… so sad too this shop has great items….

I used to love this small business. I had not been there since before COVID. I slipped in for a shop this afternoon and will never go back. The person behind the desk was unkind and miserable. This used to be my happy place but never again.

We had a lovely experience shopping in this sweet store. The owner was kind and friendly, sharing stories of historic Wilmington. They have an excellent selection of garden gifts, tools and inspiration. We will definitely visit again!

I always make a point to shop here when In the area. Love the selection of unique merchandise. Great place to find a gift for the person who has everything. The owner has always been very pleasant and helpful to me, including demonstrating how the different sizes of the Gurgle Pot sound. Will never miss a chance to stop here.

Proper Garden is an old Wilmington treasure not to be missed. You’ll delight in the unique and beautiful items for home and garden. Located in Fisherman’s Wharf. it’s home is a historical site on acobblestone street that still has remnants of the ages old trolley track.

I'm a disabled veteran and I went into the have anxiety issues and PTSD so being in confined places is hard for me and wearing a mask is even harder. As soon as I walk through the door the gray haired lady that people are talking about came out and started yelling at me to put on a mask. I started to explain that I wasn't able to wear one and she kept saying leave now, leave now! she came within 3 ft of me and then I started to walk out and she followed right behind me all the way to the door yelling at me telling me goodbye goodbye!! if she was so afraid of covid I don't understand why she got so close to me and I wasn't wearing a mask either. Please don't shop at this store this lady is a representative, I don't know if she's the owner or not but she discriminated against disabled war veteran today and kicked me out of her shop.

Not sure what the fuss about the lady being rude is all about, maybe we caught her on a good day, but she was extremely nice to us. Great selection of interesting stuff to choose from too. Would go again.

Stumbled upon this little gem of a gift shop while taking a stroll downtown. What a cute little shop with lots of local gifts and gifts for the garden! Beautiful little garden room too. The woman working was very friendly and there was an adorable cat too!
