“TLDR: Convenient and clean 24/7 travel center off I-40 (exit 138) on NC-61 toward Gibonsville in Whitsett. Gas prices posted online. Parking reservations for trucks and truck service. Burger King and Popeyes inside. We have refueled at this travel center for years. The gas is reasonably priced and the bathrooms are large and clean. Plus we can grab a snack or meal inside. It is a popular stop. Short lines are common at the pumps and Popeyes. Pay attention to the directional arrows for ease of travel through the pumps and to the parking spots. Typically we fill up the tank, park, and then grab food or use the restroom. They have ample parking and a grassy area nearby for pet bathroom breaks. Service can occasionally be slow particularly later in the day. The restrooms have ample stalls and are kept clean. In addition to Popeyes and Burger King, the convenience store is packed with snack, gift, meal, and beverage options. Overall, we recommend this travel station to others!”
“This location has a large parking lot with ample parking. I say this, because you have several rows that will allow you to be close to one of the entrances. The one thing that I love about this location is that they are fully stocked. There are surrounding Food Lions and this one always has the items I need. This location has a nice Deli/Bakery. They have ready made meals, sandwiches and sides. Their produce is usually pretty fresh. The staff is usually really nice and helpful. Don't forget to sign up for Food Lion rewards. They can help you save a lot of money. Food Lion has a nice selection of Food Lion brand products. Pay attention to the tables and bins throughout the store, because they usually have products that have deep deals.”
