“I hadn't visited a Barnes& Noble in years but I had a gift card to use so I decided to visit ?.

The store was humongous! It took me awhile to browse all of my favorite sections. The prices were a bit high on the games and puzzles, but I eventually ended up buying a novel in a series that I've been collecting for a great price.

The cashier was very friendly and helpful. You could tell she really enjoyed her job and she put a smile on my face!”

“There's no other bookstore quite like this one! A well-curated yet kind of wild collection of used and rare books, and more.I always find surprises and have still never seen the whole store.”

“One of my favorite places in Asheville, and favorite bookshops ever!Firestorm isn’t just a bookstore - it’s an incredibly important part of our community and a truly special space. They have an amazingly wide and interesting collection of books, often titles that would be difficult to find in other stores, and it’s hard for me to go in and not leave with a stack of fascinating new reads. If they don’t have a book on hand, they’ll order it for you!In addition to the books, Firestorm has plenty of great gifts - I often go there to pick up small presents for friends, because I love their selection of stickers, zines, art prints, and buttons. But the most important part of Firestorm is the role that they take in Asheville’s community. They host amazing free community events (and have a meeting room anyone can book) and are seemingly always looking for ways to help support local nonprofits and collectives. Not only that, but they’re a worker-owned cooperative and an inspiring model for how to operate as a true non-hierarchical collective.I feel so lucky to have Firestorm in my town. If you’re visiting, definitely stop by. If you live in Asheville, consider supporting Firestorm with a recurring donation via their Patreon - you get a discount on books! And, if you haven’t been in a while, be sure to check out their new space - it’s gorgeous, and much bigger!”

“This place is amazing! I ordered the vegan charcuterie board and my husband ordered a goat cheese sandwich. We were both pleasantly surprised with our choices in food as well as cocktails... they were exceptional! The service went well above 5 stars, especially considering that they treated our 2 pups like they were royalty. We didn't wander inside only because I'm not sure if we would ever want to leave!!! So many books in such an amazing atmosphere... why go anywhere else? Thank you for a purrfect experience! You were the highlight of our trip!”

“This place is a God-send; helpful and encouraging, uplifting and spiritual to the glory of God in every way. God willing, I try to get here once a year to take it all in, and enjoy the speakers as well. There are so many opportunities (January-November seminars) (December concerts) to come and learn and grow in your faith, then relax in the beautiful surroundings, or take a healthy hike or a leisurely stroll, through the many paths and trails. it's quiet; perfect for prayer, reflection, and meditation.”

“What a cool and cute lil book shop with a cafe! There's so many knick knacks and puzzles too! The atmosphere was laid back and the ladies at the register were very knowledgeable about the area and funny!

The young man at the Cafe was super friendly! Our drinks were perfect for the weather. I really loved the mature plants all along the windows!

Definitely recommend checking this spot out!”
