On August 4 I booked a room at this location for a surprise visit for a birthday celebration for a friend. I booked two locations, zip lining, dinner reservations and a comedy tour. On August 6 my pet sitter was exposed to COVID, at that time I made the decision to cancel the trip, in fear she may come down with the virus and/or I would as I was with her previously. Everyone worked with me due to the circumstances beyond my control and allowed me to cancel. I called the Grandview immediately and the owner told me I could come with my pets I booked a pet suite. I DID NOT! I have old animals who are sick and in need of medication, I would not take them on weekend getaway! The owner began ghosting and not responding to my refund request. On August 15 my pet sitter was diagnosed with COVID so I am glad I made the call. As for Grandview Lodge I would not recommend them as they don't seem to care about safety of others just about making sure their rooms are booked and they got paid.Unfortunately, truth and honesty are not part of our world these days.

This is a slice of old school Americana, nestled out a ways in the North Carolina mountains, yet somehow convenient to a surprising amount of amenities. The rooms are cozy, adorable and comfortable. The main lodge - incredible. It's the ideal roadside stop for someone wanting not just a place to stay, but an experience. And all of that is before we even get to the breakfast, which I'm still savoring while writing this review, eating some of the best grits ever with a side of about ten different items, each better than the last. It's clear that this is the dream of the owners, and it's well worth the stop. It's a dream to stay, and we'll be back. Come fall in love with this place like we did.Rooms: This is a roadside lodge from the early era of American road travel, and the rooms have that charm. These are not modern rooms, but that's part of the charm. The eccentricities are part of it. The beds are incredibly comfortable, the climate was right, and the night was quiet.Food & drinks: The breakfast was unbelievable, delicious, well-made and plentiful. Not your standard boring contintenal breakfast fare. Real food with real seasoning. So good.

My husband and I came across this place 4 years ago and have been every year ever since. The breakfast is AMAZING! Fresh squeezed apple juice, frittata's, grits, and other specialty items that are just phenomenal. The rooms are vintage, which we love and the staff are so helpful! Great for kids, close to areas we wanted to visit like Bryson City, Asheville, and Hendersonville. They even have bonfires sometimes and everyone joins around! And you get a paper with all the local restaurants, which is super helpful! A must stay!!

Jeffrey was a wonderful host. Kind friendly staff. His daughter was such a sweet young lady as well. Hidden Gem. Hope to go back soon. Surrounded by stunning scenery close to EVERYTHING in Maggie Valley.Nearby activities: Incredible location to get to everything but quiet out of the hustle traffic. It has an ambiance all it's own.

This was our 1st stay at the Lodge, and the first stay far outweighed the 2nd! We had no maid service...the bed was not made, no extra towels brought, the little refrigerator in the room had mold growing in it. A gentleman was running the lodge and it was Memorial Day weekend. The first stay there was a woman who was meticulous about everything, but this stay on the 26th and 27th of May will definitely be our last!

Enjoyed our stay at Grandview Lodge. The atmosphere was very relaxing. Attention to our needs were respected in every way possible. Our rooms were clean and unique in its own way. Breakfast was excellent. A big thanks to the staff who made us feel at home away from home.

If I could give this place one million stars, that still wouldn't feel sufficient. I discovered the Grandview Lodge after leaving a rental house that didn't meet my expectations. I was only looking for somewhere to sleep for the night to regroup and ended up staying at the Grandview for two weeks. Even that felt like too short of a stay - that's how amazing this place is. Jeff, Brea and their family are such incredible people who exude hospitality - I felt welcomed like a friend the moment I met them and left feeling like family. I sampled several rooms, all which had their own unique personalites. The Gustave-Julia was my favorite and I slept so well there. The Delannoy is very cozy, also. Jeff's homemade breakfasts are beyond fabulous. The inside of the lodge is inviting, with jazz and other relaxing music and books to borrow, and the decor is so special. Each time I was hanging out down there, I noticed something new. I loved the varities of teas and looked forward to journaling and reading down there each night. The grounds and mountain views are beautiful and the energy is amazing. It was too chilly to enjoy sitting outside at night, but I loved the porch lights and look forward to writing out there next time. I loved conversing with Jeff, Brea and Garett, who take the time to get to know their guests and go above and beyond to make sure you have an enjoyable stay. They are also very knowlegable about the area and directed me to great spots. There's just so much within a short distance, from incredible hiking and waterfalls to Smoky National Park and ancient sacred Cherokee sites. The Grandview supplies a great list of area restaurants and Waynesville has a cute downtown to explore, as do other local communities. I have truly thought thought about my experience at the Grandview every day since I've left and can't wait to go back!! I couldn't recommend it more.

Was looking for something a little better than the 2 and 3 star hotels in the area. This place had great charm in both the main lodge area and the rooms. Very nice decor and things in the main lodge to make you feel comfortable. Could easily be the place to go in Waynesville if more attention was paid to basic maintenance. Beds were hard as a rock, bedding was comfortable but older, cracked windows, surface peeling off toilet seat. Most surfaces were pretty clean, but a lot of the lamp shades were pretty dusty. Call ahead if checking in after 7pm (which I did, still had a brief wait when I got there due to the number left on the desk was not answering). Also breakfast is served from 8:30-9am, so if you leave early you will miss that, no alternate option, which I felt was one of the reasons I paid a little more. Overall it was OK, could be much more as the setting is really nice.
