Located on Church Street near the corner of Church and Main Street in Waynesville, North Carolina, this wine shop offers a broad array of various wines including local, US, and wine from other countries. The employees were helpful and friendly. Watch your step as you step down into this basement shop.

I love visiting this shop. It's really in a cellar! It feels like an Old World cellar tasting room. They have the best wine selection and lots of luxury brands. If you're a Napa person they have Caymus, Cakebread, etc. Some very dusty bottles from Burgundy for collectors and aficionados. All kinds of port and sherry. Then, there's lots of really high quality mid-range premium wine for casual enjoyment.

What a great shop with a wide range of products. Check out the Dom selection. The vibe is collector and wine specialist for sure. We always spot in while in Waynesville.

You don't really expect to find a wine shop of this caliber tucked away in a small mountain town in the Appalachians but drop in and find yourself delighted with the wonderful assortment of wines and the equally fabulous service. We are spoiled by a few of the wine shops in Raleigh owned by good friends so our bar is set pretty high. My husband and I are far from being wine snobs; we are probably the opposite. We like easily "drinkable" wines and obscure wines/blends that don't break the bank. If it is odd or quirkly, we are going to like it. The Wine Seller has the perfect balance of elegant, classic wines you would expect to find in a well curated store's collection paired with things from off the beaten path including some interesting NC wines. The wine list available by the glass is wide and diverse. Pay attention in particular to the ports (great white and rose port options that you don't see every day by the glass.) The owners and staff are knowledgable, engaging and full of Southern hospitality.

Beautiful old cellar type building. Excellent wine selection. Tapas and entrees at specific times. Reservations recommended for entrees.
