I had a milk stout and felt right at home in this cozy place in the forests of Wake. Several friends and I were hoping to hear an acoustic trio do songs by America, one of our favorite bands. Hopefully, one day they will have one sometime. This haus is wild, baby, wild.

Bring your friends and some room to drink a pint or two. White Street Brewing has some great beer to drink and you can get them about as fresh as they come here. There's a lot of room for -- so it makes a good gather spot as part of your night out, but also, there's a lot of room so you'll want to pack your own atmosphere (hence the friends--remember, this is a brewery first). Kudos to them for allowing you to bring in food. Darts and a couple of TVs provide the background for a long session of drink and talk -- and both the bar and the bathroom were wonderfully clean. Best of all is the bar staff, who are laid back, friendly, and always have a couple of good opinions to give you on what to drink.

Extremely quality beers in a nicely restored historic building. White Street is worth the stop in old Town Wake Forest. I like pretty much everything on tap, even styles I don't normally gravitate towards. Merideum is a must try and my personal go-to. Only downside is they do not allow dogs inside and don't have a patio. No biggie, but leave the pup at home if you come. Usually a food truck out front but you can always grab pizza or burgers from next door too.

Cool vibes with some tasty suds in a nice downtown area. Only knock is there was no outside seating but the tables at the window have a nice view. I highly recommend

In August, we tasted a White Street beer in a tap room that we really enjoyed. So much so that we decided to take a one hour drive to the actual brewery. Prior to our visit, we tried to find information on their pet policy. We checked the website. Nothing. Tried to call. No phone in the tap room. Sent an email. No reply. Since our senior Lab has been welcome in EVERY brewery we’ve ever visited, we assumed White Street would also be dog-friendly. However, our dog was not allowed inside, and there was no outdoor seating to accommodate our fur baby. My husband got a beer while I waited on the sidewalk with the dog. It was disappointing, to say the least. I suggest that this establishment post their dog-UNFRIENDLY policy on their website, and respond to email inquiries.

White Street is great and has a lot to offer. This is a great place to go on a Friday night to meet up with your friends or family to catch up. Their drink menu is broad with a lot of options. They also occasionally have live music which is always great and provides a awesome experience! I will say it can get very crowded which can make it very difficult to find a table to sit or stand at. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone.

Good beer, but…We tried unsuccessfully to contact the tap room regarding pet policy and beer availability. No phone and no email response, and no information on their website. We took a chance, drove over an hour only to be denied entry with our dog, and no outdoor seating was available. We went around the corner to Norse Brewery. Nice, dog-friendly place. Decent beer.

White Street Brewing Co. is located in the heart of downtown Wake Forest. It opened in 2011, which gosh, seems almost like yesterday. I was there for opening day...with my first kid in tow in a baby bjorn carrier...you guys remember those?! Wake Forest's first brewery, I was super excited! It brought some much needed life and exuberance back into downtown and I feel like it started a mini-revitalization of Wake Forest. They always have a line up of staples, which they call their Main Street series...a kolsch, a couple IPAs, a Beglian Triple, and a Scottish amber. And more often then not, they have seasonal classics or one-offs on the tap menu. The brewery is built right into the tap room, which is cool to sit there and have a beer and look over your shoulder right where some if it is brewed. The reason I say some of it, is because they have a larger production facility close by that handles brewing their regular line-up, which you can see in many restaurants and most grocery stores. There is no food on site, but they routinely have food trucks outside and there are several restaurants you can grab food from downtown and bring right inside...or bring a picnic from home. They have darts, a shuffleboard and sports are usually playing on the TVs. White Street also headlines and supports several local events and clubs...including the ever popular Friday Night on White concert series and hosts the White Street Brewer's Guild (a homebrew club I helped found). If you are ever in downtown Wake Forest, stop by, grab a beer (or a wine or craft soda), take in the rustic history of the building and brewery setup and say hi to a stranger...they just might become your friends✌️
