South Main Street Animal Hospital
1628 S Main St Suite 100, Wake ForestAfter having a bad experience with another local vet, South Main Street Animal Hospital was a breath of fresh air. The doctor spent as much time with us as needed and was very thorough. He provided knowledgeable care and answered all of my questions. When I needed a specific food authorized through another website, it was approved within the hour. The office staff was friendly and made me feel welcome. 10 out of 10... would recommend.

The staff is amazing, friendly, and so helpful. The variety of beer on tap does not disappoint and it’s great trying their seasonal brews! Goodberry's Frozen Custard
11736 Retail Dr, Wake ForestIt was a beautiful fall day so we decided to stop and get some frozen custard at Goodberrys. I had my boys with me so I opted for something basic vanilla with sprinkles but sometimes basic is best! You walk up and order at the window and it only took a minute and then our order was up. They noticed I had young kids with me and offered me extra spoons, a cup and napkins. It was a delicious sweet treat for a warm day! I love this location because it has ample seating both on the patio and in the grassy area to the left.

Dairy Depot
3433 Rogers Rd, Wake ForestI love this place. This is one of my new favorite ice cream spots. It is a drive through ice cream place or a walk up window. It is super small so it is easy to miss. Their menu is massive with so many different soft serve flavors. I got pistachio and it tasted good. I wish it had a stronger flavor in it but it certainly wasn't bad. They had a ton of Halloween themed shakes and sundaes. This would be a perfect place to come with your kids after practice. They took extra sprinkles seriously and they were a lot less expensive than other places. The seating area is decent with a few outdoor tables. The service was great and very friendly. If I lived closer I would go here all the time.

Norse Brewing Company
203 Brooks St, Wake ForestI went here one time 2 years ago, and to this day i still think about the duck fat fries and turtle cheesecake that we ordered. The food and drinks were amazing. Slightly pricey but not outrageous by any means. The atmosphere was kind of like a sports bar where we were seated inside. But i would love to go back if I’m in town during warmer weather so i can sit outside. Overall I wish this place was closer to where i live, but will definitely return!

Saving Grace Animals for Adoption NC
13400 Old Creedmoor Rd, Wake ForestI got my dog from saving grace and he has been a perfect fit into my home(I had him for a week long sleepover that turned into a lifetime stay). I think they have great facilities and staff but I have had dogs sent home with me for weekend sleepovers twice with medical issues(kennel cough and bloody diarrhea) in which I was concerned of my own dog contracting. I understand this can happen and hold them at no fault, just think they should check the dogs out before sending them into sleepovers. Other thing that isn’t applicable to me but I do find having the “high demand breeds” like doodles/poodles being double in adoption fee to be unfair. It’s a rescue and all dogs should have the same opportunity as well as people looking for those breeds who are thankfully looking into adopting could easily be deterred from that. Other than those things I love saving grace and what they are doing for thousands of dogs a year!
