ABSOLUTELY one of the worst experiences I have had with a business. Normally we just us TaxCut for our taxes but this year there were a couple of quirky things on our taxes that in addition to making sure we did things right I wanted to get some general info about how to better plan for the coming year. Well I got neither. First of all we spent just about most of our time watching someone do data entry into a system stuck in what looked like the early 2000s and no where near the refinement of the TaxCut software. The rest of the time was spent asking US how to file some very simple land profits and tax entries or other office personnel interrupting asking when he was gonna be ready for the next clients. We had to wait 25 min past our sch appt time so it was cascading lateness going into other irritable clients. On top of that our tax prep guy was unprofessional in making negative comments about his co-workers and their abilities. Well when our time was to be rushed out the door we had really no time to ask any questions
If that was where the exp ended it would be bad enough. But I had already done most of the work earlier on TaxCut and I thought the amount we owed seemed a good bit higher than what the office visit prep return said we needed to pay. Apparently there was a fairly standard deduction that was not applied. (Later tax prep advisors we surprised this was left off esp since all the he documents were provided).
Then the odyssey of trying to reach my tax advisor or any one else in the office to first confirm I was eligible for the deduction and what were the steps to presumably file an amendment. After 5 plus calls, multiple emails and physically going back to the office and leaving a hand note over several weeks I gave up with that path.
I the.contacted the Poyner Place office. My exo was COMPLETELY different. The staff was very responsive (Janet Swan was our first very helpful office member and Schullette Jerrick was thankfully my advisor here) I got it confirmed very quickly that I was indeed supposed to get this additional deduction that was not anything that was very rare/exotic. Then quickly set up my amendment. I also requested a refund from my original tax prep fee and she was able to submit this and get it approved for me also.
While the Poyner Place experience was great and all got resolved, to get to that point from the frustration occuring from the original work done at the Wake Forest office was extremely time consuming. For the fees they charge it should have been a much better experience and less of a hassle. . Plus I am still waiting who knows how many weeks for the IRS to process my amendment and return my money.
I would recommend staying as far away from this office even if it is the closest. You will save tine/money by driving to another office

I am highly disappointed. I got an email the night before tax day asking if I signed with someone else. No I had you do my taxes on the 3rd of April only to find out that you never submitted them. Went in last night the 15th and was told they were submitted now, but I still don’t have any confirmations from the IRS or anything. First and last time I pay anyone to do my taxes for me. They were nice when I was in the office but none of that matters if I pay you to file my taxes and you don’t do it. Now I’ll probably face late fees with the IRS as well. Waste of time and money!!!

In my experience, i would not recommend H&R Block. It was impossible to speak to a live person. Their "tax pros" are not professional and lacked knowledge and common sense, especially for the fees they charge.

Absolutely the worst. Useless office, sat in waiting room for 30 minutes with no one coming out to check us in. Dropped of paper work early March, had an appointment today (nearly a month later), 45 minutes late to get back to wrap up our taxes to find out they sat on our paperwork and did nothing with it for nearly a month! Don't make an appointment at this office, they never honor it. Been using them for years due to convenience and what once was a great office is now awful. It's been a steady decline for the past 3 years.

Twice this location wasted my appointments. I sent a message when making my 1st appointment that I needed help with a previous year. When I showed up, they told me they couldn't help and I made an appointment for 2 weeks later. After confirming my appointment the morning of by phone, when I showed up they said there was no appointment. I had emails proving otherwise. I have wasted so much time and gas. Get it together, please!

Joanne was great. Took the time to answer my questions and the price was much better than I paid to my tax accountant in previous years. Glad I found her.

I had an appt with a tax advisor and when I arrived he wasn’t there. I inquired if he had an emergency or was ill and the response by the receptionist was that she didn’t control the schedule of the tax staff and that I could just leave my documents. Her final response, while laughing was “oh btw, you need to fill these forms out if you even want to leave your docs. Never have I been so poorly treated by a supposed precessional company and service. DO NOT USE H&R Block!!

Was asked to reschedule by one of the members at this branch, I come back at the scheduled time the next day (have text message to confirm time and place) and the store is closed and no one is there. When I tried to call the store it says its not open for another hour. Incredibly frustrating experience.

Sara N I have contacted your useless customer no-service dept. TWICE ! I've got a case #. Thats all i got. Well until 26 days later you replied. stay away from this location in Wake Forest, NC. They took my money & didn't complete the taxes for my deceas mom. They just don't care

Dear readers: please take the 1 star feedbacks to heart. I didn’t and now regret my decision to use this office. I’m completely dissatisfied with the lack of response, knowledge and help I received during the 3 weeks it took to finalize my very simple returns. Take your business somewhere else.

Would give 0 star if I could. Dropped my taxes off and didn't hear anything back for 2 weeks. I could not get in touch with anyone at this office and left several voicemails. Had to contact corporate to see what was going on only to find out no one was actually assigned to complete my taxes. This office is completely unprofessional and I ended up having to do my taxes myself after these so called "tax professionals" couldn't get the job done in any sort of a timely manner. I do not recommend coming here if you can help it.

I have tried to call this office and multiple other offices and left about a dozen messages over the past month. Not once were any of my messages returned. I even walked into the office and the staff appeared disoriented pointing blame to other places. I had a simple question and they can’t return calls. Stay away
