While visiting out of town friends, I passed through Thomasville around 5 pm on a rainy Tuesday after Christmas. My car started making such a noise I had to pull over. By God's grace, the first viable place to pull in happened to be 1st Choice. I saw a flat tire. While it appeared they were closing up, the mechanic kindly took the time to bring my car in, put it on a lift and determine the tire was not repairable. He put on my donut, checked the pressure and lug nuts on all the tires and said there was no charge. I gave him a tip and carried on my way greatly relieved.While I can't speak for this shop's full operation and abilities, I am most grateful for the generous service afforded to this traveler in need.

***edit to reponse** I see how you're trying to paint this review... making me out to be an angry customer who was swearing and making you look like a world class mechanic that went above and beyond by looking at my car twice even though I swore... That never happened.The first phone call was me asking if my car had been looked at. Why would I swear at her? I wasn't angry - had no need to be... I didn't even swear at you when my husband and I came in to collect my keys, even though you were being smug with us. YOU were my source of discontent that day.You sometimes have to "deliver bad news"? You delivered no news, because you never looked at at the 4 things i asked you to look at! You should take some notes when it comes to how the healthcare industry is ran. When a patient comes in with an issue the provider actually looks at them to figure out their problem - not talk to a nurse while having a stethoscope on them.The fact is I have video proof of you on your phone during the short test drive where you should have been listening for noises... It's lovely to know the person who you were speaking to told you that you never completed their state inspection they asked you to do and had to waste more time bringing their car back to you... but, as you probably saw coming - ya get 1 star because you felt the need to lie about the interaction I had with your company.They get one star because they can change brakepads and headlight bulbs, and another star for always calling back in a timely manner.Unfortunately they lose one star for reminding me during 3 calls how busy they are (making me feel like my vehicle isn't important), they lose another star for refusing to physically touch my car because they can't hear a noise, and they lose a third star for saying they test drove my car for 40 minutes when that was a lie. I have a dash cam in my car and after reviewing video the man was on his phone for over half of his first test drive. (That was only a 5 minute test drive) Of course you can't hear a noise if you're on your phone. His second test drive was only 10 minutes. So I am unsure why he said he dedicated 40 minutes into driving my car...I set up an appointment for 9am. I tried making the diagnosis easy to figure out by telling them what the noise sounded like, where the noise was heard in the car, and how to best hear the noise... (by going 70mph, or having somebody sit in the back seat.)I get a call at 1:30 telling me that the mechanic doesn't hear the noise. He didn't listen to my advice on how to best hear the noise so I have to advocate for myself and ask for him to drive it the way I asked him to, and then i ask for him to look at a specific part on my car to see if that's the issue. (Exhaust heat shield rattling.)I'm told on the phone they're very busy, but that they'll look at my car again. This is after we spoke at 11:30 when I was told they haven't gotten to my car yet because they're very very busy.Get another call later on saying he still can't hear the noise and that they're "very busy and looking at the exhaust heat shield will take too long - so he isn't going to look at it."I think it's insane that I was so incredibly detailed on the noise, where the noise was and asked for a specific part to be looked at and then was told they will not look at it. At no point did the man look at my car to see if anything was loose or rattling or rusted. After speaking with multiple out-of-state mechanics they told me that's lazy and you troubleshoot the issue by looking at the car. After playing a video of the noise to him (that i offered to email them at 1:30) he had the audacity to say "I'll look at the exhaust heat shield now if you want" at 5:15 when I went to pick up my car. Sir, I wanted you to look at it at 9am, why offer now!? And then to pretty much say "I'm not charging you $200 when I couldn't help you, even though I could charge you..." ?? like you would h

I have been to couple different places and got ripped off. Thankfully I found this wonderful place. Always fixed the problem and fixes it right the first time. They always have a smile and very friendly.

I live across the street, if it weren't for this place my cars would never run lol. Ditch National Tire and Battery save yourself the trouble and just go to First Choice Automotive, don't let it be your second choice.
