My dad and I did the Hammock state park to Bear island tour with Jimmy. We couldn’t have had a better time. Jimmy went above and beyond to ensure everything went smoothly. He was very knowledgeable on the history of the area and a wealth of information on kayaks. Our group of 6 had all 4 miles of Bear Island to ourselves. I went for a swim. Fantastic experience. You will spend about 4 hours in a kayak, with about 1 hour on the island. Thanks again, Jimmy!

Great place to take your canoes and kayaks for an excursion. If you do not own a small craft this would be a great place to rent from.

Great park and trails! Very beautiful. Don't recommend canoeing or paddle boarding here. Lots of boat traffic ignoring no wake and it creates big trouble on the water in a small craft.

Really enjoyed our kayak trip with Paddle NC at Hammocks Beach State Park. Wes took good care of us. We booked online and were in the water within 15 minutes of arriving at the park. It's an incredible kayak through the marsh to Bear Island.

Mark was an friendly tour guide and did an excellent job teaching us about kayaking. He had an extensive knowledge of Shark Tooth Island and its history along with other kayaking routes. Can't wait to explore Bear Island next

Excellent experience. Rented two singles and a tandem to paddle to Bear island. Took a bit longer than we anticipated due to a low tide. Employees were extremely friendly, helpful, and laid back.

My family and I have been kayaking in the Swansboro area for years. We were trying to go to Swansboro Paddle Boarding and Kayaking. When we looked it up on google for directions we clicked on an ad ran by Paddle NC that used the headline “Swansboro Paddle Boarding” which I felt was a bit deceiving due to it using another company’s name which in the end led us to the wrong location.

Amazing experience. I went with my wife friend children and mother and it was amazing. We did get stuck on sandbars a couple times because of low tide but that has nothing to do with paddle nc

Great tour. It was a little dicey crossing the ice but we made it! Our guide was very knowledgeable and helpful. We saw hermit crabs, blue crabs, stingrays, egrets, herons and found numerous shark teeth! Very cool trip. My 11 yo daughter had no trouble piloting a single kayak by herself (she's had a bit of experience). Be aware if you are on the larger side you might be wedged in tight. These kayaks were narrower than I was used to but it all worked out. Bring a bag for collecting sharks teeth and seashells. And a hat and water bottle are needed too. Have fun! Happy Paddling!
