I am here WAY too often thanks to my accident-prone boy, but not once has the staff made me feel like a burden. We can joke and laugh in the waiting area while waiting for an appointment, and they are always incredibly understanding. I wouldn’t consider any of my animals “easy”. My cats want to kill everyone, my malinois acts like he’s never been trained a day in his life, yet the staff are always friendly and welcoming. It took me a very long time to find a vet hospital I liked: I worked in veterinary medicine for 8 years so my standards for qualify of care are quite high. Surf City Pet Hospital exceeds this expectations for me. I’d happily pay a little more for their quality and service. Their prices are fair, and they aren’t “pushing products” or making “money grabs”. There is always a reason a vet will recommend diagnostics, and it’s our job as a pet owner to listen to those recommendations and do what we can for our pets. I can’t imagine taking my pets anywhere else ❤️

Our dog needed to be seen while we were visiting the area. From the first phone call everyone was wonderful! Such a treat to have so many kind, knowledgeable people help out our pup. I’m sure everyone is just as great but we specifically spoke with Renee, Travis and Dr. Carrell. Thank you!

My best friend Eve had to leave me after 16 years of relentless love. I can hardly believe she's gone, but the process was so much less stressful because of how amazingly respectful and kind these wonderful people are. I'll never forget Eve and I'll never forget the kindness of the people at SC pet hospital.

First time vacationing in Topsail/Surf City and my dog fell ill. The staff and doctor was so accommodating to get us in, to take care of my little girl and provide us with the needed food and medication to get her back home. Thank you so much! Cheena is doing much better now. Highly recommend. Finally, being a non-local and this being an emergency, I was concerned with how much this was going to cost, but the Surf City Pet Hospital bill was very reasonable. THANK YOU!!!

The staff are always friendly, and Dr. Rudd is a wonderful veterinarian. She has had a personal understanding of my two dogs, even remembering our many prior visits and checkups. The staff have always been caring and attentive when it comes to my dogs' health.

So thankful for the doctors and staff here! They worked us in on short notice for our Lucy's neck injury, thorough exam and issued medicine on the spot. Then they called the following day to check on her progress. Very pleased!

We've been taking our dogs to this location for the past few years. We've started to notice some issues in the recent visits. When calling in, the receptionists never seemed to answer the phones or call back when a voicemail is left. On our last visit, one of our dogs had to have a nail repaired. We were informed that they would be gluing the nail back down. But upon picking him up, they had cut the entire toenail off, quick and all. None of that kind of procedure was discussed with us. On top of that, they tried overcharging us for medication and procedures that didn't need to be done. As well as adding an e-collar that wasn't on the original estimate. I brought it up to the receptionist, and she thought it was appropriate to give me an attitude about it as well. Needless to say, we will be finding a new vet for the future.

While everyone at the clinic was fantastic, Dr. Wicks is amazing! After a few years of feeling ignored and brushed off by my previous vet, Dr. Wicks actually took my concerns seriously, found the issue and not only offered a solution, but assured me there were more options if needed. My dog is finally feeling better and I look forward to establishing care for the rest of my animals.
