Extremely disappointed and angered by this facility. I drove with my children for 45 min. to go to a 3p show today. Arrived at exactly 3:02 and the person at the front desk refused to allow us into the auditorium and then told us to have a nice day. Wow...

Great to visit with kids. The science hall has some cool exhibits

The facility was fine but we caught a show that consisted of a cartoon about the Mayan culture which wasn’t very interesting. They focused on mythical aspects rather than the factual portion of their astronomical discoveries. If “ Tales of the Maya Sky” is what is playing during your show time, I recommend skipping.

A word of caution to anyone with lung or mold allergy issues… it smells like an old musty cottage in the planetarium and triggered quite an allergic reaction for me. The Beatles Laser show was good but I couldn’t wait until it was over to get out.Not sure if there is an agency that tests air quality in public facilities but it is necessary here. Sorry, can’t return.

The staff at the planetarium were very friendly. The show was educational and the gentleman who conducted it was knowledgeable and enjoyed educating others. I would recommend others who are interested in astronomy and astrology visit the planetarium. It was a break from the usual coastal activities.

I was not expecting such a great experience. How anyone would leave a bad review is beyond me. We arrived a little bit early and they opened the doors and allowed us in. The building was clean, handicap accessible and the staff was super friendly. We browsed the gift shop before the room with the hands on experiences was actually opened. The gift shop had very reasonable prices and a very nice varied selection! The hands on room was a lot of fun. There was not a million things to do, but you have to try the "hurricane" closet/room exhibit. Our show's guide was wonderful! I believe her name was Tammy. We saw Accidental Astronauts with our 10 year old grand daughter. She loved it. After the show there was a short talk about what stars would be in the local sky that very evening that we could look forward to watching. That was very unexpected. We visited the gift shop and purchased a couple of great souvenirs and are planning on going back again... probably going to make a weekend out of with a laser light show and doing some shopping. Sunset Beach is a great little town. Thank you so much to the Ingram Planetarium for helping us make our grand daughter's Birthday outing with her old Gram and Pop a cool experience! Update: As promised we made a weekend of it and returned for a laser light show (the one with Celine Dion, Santana music) and it was FANTASTIC!!! We are returning in a couple of weeks to see the Queen laser show! I hope this place never closes... Thanks again for a great time. Super friendly staff!!

Took my 8-year-old grandson and we saw two shows and visited the gift shop and the interactive Science area. We had a wonderful day, and we both thoroughly enjoyed the two planetarium shows. The bathrooms were spotlessly clean, and all of the employees were very helpful and friendly. My grandson specially loved the hurricane simulator, and all of the educational space items in the gift shop. We plan on coming back on a regular basis. Well worth the short drive from Myrtle Beach.

We bought a partnered ticket at the Museum of Coastal Carolina. They informed us we could redeem the ticket for a dome planetarium show, or a laser music show. We chose the David Bowie laser concert because our teen daughter is a fan. I was a bit worried it might be too loud and flashy, as I have several sensory sensitivities, but I brought a pair of ear plugs just in case. It was so much fun! Truly one of the highlights of our vacation. We will definitely return for more shows.

Got there at 7:02..yes the show started at 7. But when the blonde lady with a bob cut saw us approaching the doors she waved at another person across the hall grabbed her purse and scurried to the door. Wouldn't let us in because we aren't from here and got a tad lost and was 2 minutes behind on a 2 hour show. She was very rude and I understand that the fault is on us but I really don't think people were even settled into the show and 2 minutes would have messed it up. 2 stars for her behavior period

The light show was amazing. The music was about the right volume. Nice place for a relaxing evening.

The entire purpose of a planetarium is to provide the public with a quality planetarium experience. Much to our disappointment, a quality experience is not what we encountered. The gentleman who hosts the show is absolutely delightful. He is a wealth of information and so very pleasant. Unfortunately, everything else was surprisingly bad. It has great potential, but in desperate need of an update. By desperate I mean—the show was blurry to say the least, sound quality poor, and film seemed to be outdated by at least 15 years. The “science room” was less than impressive. As a family of seven ranging all ages, nothing captivated our attention. For the amount they charge I would expect much more. $10 per person per show leaves you regretful. I share our experience to spare another family the expense. It’s really too bad. We would have gladly bought a membership if the show quality was better. I can’t imagine the staff are oblivious to this reality. Please save the apology to my review and go by a better projector. It should be this facilities absolute top priority.

My son, my bf and I all went to the laser show back in August 2022. We saw an educational show first and the Queen laser light show! It was awesome! Great time! Staff are all really sweet people!

Relaxing way to spend an hour. Friday at noon and my party of four had the whole place to ourselves. Educational and informative first part on the vast number of telescopes in Chile. Then a great presentation of a local perspective on stars and constellations that you could see that night. The view from the beach is even better without all the light "noise".

Went and saw the lasershow featuring music from Queen. Very enjoyable, excellent sound system, great selection of Queen songs, and a great way to spend an hour for $10. Have to go back and check out the Tom Petty, Led Zeppelin, and Beatles themed laser shows.
