So my family and I went by to pick up a Rx and some Pokémon cards. Well I've been here a good bit the last month or two doing exactly that, buying cards and medicine. Today I had to get the cards i wanted from the back of the display. Well, of course that means half the store has to stop what they're doing and watch us/me. Normally I would be understanding, but seeing as how I'M THE ONE THAT TOLD THEM about someone stealing their cards like 3 or 4 weeks ago, I'm not! I also recommended doing like most other stores and moving them behind the counter. Did they? No. Easier to just make actual customers feel extremely uncomfortable.
The best part? While worrying so much about me, some older guy walked out the door with a bag of product for free. Maybe make changes instead of assumptions.
It's only 3 stars because of a nice lady upfront and the guy pharmacist in back. Other than that all the people are either miserable all the time or college age kids that don't care. While looking some older lady practically shoved past my wife to 'stock' something next to me. Maybe be less obvious ya'll. Oh, and the thief also steals in Boone and the cops are aware of him. Maybe call them.

Outstanding! I don't know why they have a 2.1 rating, but let's just say this. That was my first time in banner elk that I can remember and first time at Walgreens in banner elk. I WILL be coming here from now on ! Friendly staff as soon as I walked in and I mean the radiance the clerk near the door had as I walked in just put most of my fears aside because I was so worried and Boone didn't have what I needed. The pharmacist was amazing as well, he seems like a guy that's particular and knows what he's talking about and helped me tremendously, I don't know if he's always this much of a blessing but good gawd I needed that break. The customer service was excellent ? when I went to cash out and it seems out in this area the pharmacies are over worked and possibly understaffed and under paid. In this general area I mean if North Carolina. Can't believe this place has such a bad review. Hopefully mine gets them a better rating cause they really deserve more than that. Thank you to all the staff. You guys helped my bad day turn to a good one. And saved me almost $200 dollars. I'll never forget that. Shout out to the pharmacist though. He did have a "BETTER CARD THAN I HAD ". ? Thanks again.

As a prescriber... Todd is a nightmare. Yesterday, we had a patient on vacation and in need of a prescription. Our 3rd party electronic prescription service is down due to firewall issues. When I called I spoke with Todd and he REFUSED to take the prescription over the phone insisting I send it electronically because he's too busy. When I told him I could not, he told me to call back and select the voicemail option and leave the prescription info on the voicemail. He was extremely rude and unprofessional. I called back twice within 15 min and each time I choose the voicemail but the voicemail must have been full so was sent back to Todd. This interaction totaled maybe 10 min. I called my patient and explained the problem I'm having with the pharmacist and I'll keep trying to send the prescription. I waited an hour, called again, followed the same prompt as before, finally got the voicemail and left all the Rx info. My patient called 4 hours later and Todd told her I never sent the prescription. He also "tried" to look her up in the system, said she wasn't there, and HUNG UP on her.My patient called us and was willing to drive to another Walgreens an hour away in Boone. I called the Walgreens in Boone. Spoke with Andrew. He took the prescription over the phone. And found my patient in the system in 6 seconds. The whole interaction took 3 min.I hope Andrew at the Boone location gets every green light on his commute to work. Todd... I hope every time you use ketchup you get the water that rises to the top.The lesson here is "don't be a Todd, be an Andrew."

Went to pick up a few items. They were closed. It was 7:19pm and the online info showed they're supposed to open until 9pm.

This location is the worst . They change their hours last minute and always close early . Seems Sundays are the worst. Post note on door of hours change last minute. So unprofessional.

I was on vacation in Beech Mnt and discovered I had not packed my daily medication. Pharmacist and staff were understanding. We discussed options and worked it out to get me 5 days worth. I am thankful they were kind and so helpful.

My 79 year old husband called the pharmacy to see if the covid vaccine was in, due to our appointment days earlier was cancelled due to lack of vaccine. He was told, yes it is in. He asked can we come in today to get a shot. We were told yes. Since we were driving from Blowing Rock, we wanted to make sure before the long windy road trip. We departed right away for the store. We arrived and the heavyset woman in the pharmacy told us, we could not get the vaccine, it is still frozen. We asked why we were told it was available and come get your shot today. She told us yes the vaccine is in, but it is frozen, we would have to come back tomorrow. She said to us, you did not ask the question correctly. She was rude. Then we asked if we come in tomorrow can we get the shot, and she said no, not without an appt. The decision not to honor what they told us by telephone twice, was just decided and made that day. We were originally told by phone, since Walgreens did not have the vaccine for our appointment time, we could come anytime without another appointment once the vaccine arrives. She made it sound like we were in the wrong and said if we do not make another appointment then we will be turned away again tomorrow. Please avoid this store due to this pharmacy employee. She was awful and my husband and I drove all that way with the stores invitation to come and get our vaccines, just to be told we were wrong!

The antiquated, unlinked systems at Walgreens are VERY frustrating. BUT the PEOPLE in the Sugar Mountain Pharmacy are top notch -- very helpful and knowledgeable. And so are the folks working in the front. Now, I just wish Walgreens HQ would get their systems upgraded!

Do not trust them with anything. I had a script called in and they never said their pharmacy was closed. Not to the medical professional calling in or me as the customer. I sat on the phone for 30 minutes listening to it tell me there was one caller ahead of me. I call front desk where i was rudely told there was nothing that could be done about.. Could not go to another walgreens I was basically out of luck. I needed the covid meds that had to be started within 48 hours. I was lucky. I could get my medical to call Banner Elk Pharmacy where I got my meds. do not trust walgreens.
