This company will send you 1 email if you are late on a payment. My wife forgot to pay the electric bill as it was supposed to be on auto pay. Somehow that got turned off. They email us a bill. She doesn't see the bill. 2 weeks later I get a disconnection warning in the mailbox. Walk inside and my power has been shut off. They sent me a warning late and I still was charged $40 reconnecting fee. The manager was super unhelpful and didn't seem to understand why it's wrong to cut someone's power off without giving then a physical warning in the mail on time. This is a money hungry company that does not care about customer satisfaction all.

No problem with power. But I went to pay my last month bill online as I always do. Well I thought I hit the pay the last month due. Click and next thing I knowed. Is it say whole amount of 380. Geezer I couldn't do whole thing as wish I could. So had bank stop payment. And I turned right around and pd. The 200. I had to pay.Well since they couldn't get money for first payment they. Have now stop me from online at all. Even the one time pay online where u can us your debit card. So I can't pay online for a yr. That's just stupid. You can go to different locations to pay but have to pay a processing fee. Don't think so. Going back to old school mailing payment in.So don't mess up this was my first time of this ever happening.

We have lived in our rental for a month. They keep telling us the bill has not been paid but they are receiving the two seaport upcharges for delay in payment from the same billing/account information.. They say we owe $241 now when our bill was paid and was only $80. The rest are upcharges. Not very happy with our experience so far.

Helping my friend with her review and posting this. And also, wondering why Energy United could charge her an extra 20 dollars after her power had been cut off and she uses the prepaid type account. If her power was already off and she had to pay the 50 dollar reconnection fee and the new amount she is paying to add to her account for more power kilowatts usage what's the extra 20 for? Oh what now we've got hidden fees too. Struggling single parent trying to make ends meet.

What electric company turns someone's power off in the winter!!! A company that DOESN'T help anyone but themselves, charging an extra $80 to reconnect services on a Saturday or 1 minute past 5 during the week...foolishness!!! They don't work with you it's all about the money for them!!!

No one has contacted us.This is one person's public review of Energy United in NC especially in Davidson County. For a electric co-op, I have found their service to be the lowest I have ever experienced in all the places I have ever lived. I don't know if they are inept or just plain lazy as they don't provide basic service. I have been trying to move into my new home for over a month now. Over numerous weeks and phone calls an inspection was performed. After inspection verification a meter installation date was set. The meter crew arrived a day early cut my private gated chain. I was informed the meter lug is broken and the meter could not be installed and it was the property owners responsibility to effect any repairs, now get this, they have a lock on the box preventing any access other than Energy United. This logically prevails upon thought that no one at any time had gained entry to the box except Energy United therefore any damage had to have been caused by them. Many calls no help POWERLESS IN DENTON through Energy United.

I only put a star because it wouldn’t let me post without any stars. Horrible customer service, horrible company, must hate people during the winter shutting off power refusing to connect it after three hours and reconnect fee paid. HORRIBLE SERVICE. Literally moving just so I don’t have to use energy United. Their customer service is nasty cold and just downright hate people

Red Neck backwards company and no choice, If I could give a zero I would.

I would give a zero but it is not possible. We have had terrible outage problems in the last 5 years that make no sense! Homes literally nextdoor have power and or across the street at times. We go several hours even days without power! This in turn skyrockets our power bill to reheat or cool our home! This is crazy! Fix the problem in my area or update the equipment that keeps failing. Now we will have the additional increase on what we pay on our energy bill this year as well! The response is a joke! A letter was never received in the mail. I did however have something hung on my front door about trimming trees in the around the main entrance and this is not where they work on outage issues. In fact, it is further into the development at a dead end far away from this entrance which is one of three entrances! One power outage in 2020 which was the end of October was for 3 days! Three homes including mine without power in a large residential area.

Power goes out weekly, during nice weather. What're you doing to prevent outages?

So glad we are moving away from Energy United! So many outages! So many BIG surges! I am surprised our appliances have not been damaged. We are thankful we have a generator! We also notice voltage drops so that when the AC kicks in our lights dim.I am on the phone now to disconnect and have been waiting for about 15 minutes. Every other utility has been a love person answering. It took 30 minutes to set up disconnect. With the new power company we are moving to, a LIVE person answered. It took all of 7 minutes to get set up.Also their propane service is terrible as well. We were on the auto plan and ran out of propane! We ordered fireplace logs and had to have them replaced and they still really didnt work well. The service person came out multiple times. Now they have a new app that I had to sign up for. I did and now cant get anywhere. It keep sending me back to the main page. Also they were charging a fee to make an on line payment!!

EnergyUnited 567 location is supposed to be open at 8 am on week days, I get there and wait until 8:15 am waiting for them to open, so I leave and come back at 9 am and the employees still are walking around with the door locked and window in drive through closed as well. And I only had cash so I needed them to be open because I couldn't pay online. So I had to go to Walmart to pay it. I am very upset with you EnergyUnited you need to get it together and get with the program. There was no sense in it. And further more EnergyUnited should put a notice on their door letting people know that they are closed, have some common courtesy.
