I happened to be driving past and this place caught my eye being a collector and enthusiast of
American classics, Ray the owner was happy to give his time and go over the current market as it
relates to my collection and the market in general.
Buyer or seller, I would put them in the picture

Dealership was great. Chris was great. But A WORD OF ADVICE….strongly consider having a qualified mechanic check out any vehicle you are interested in. These are consignment sales of older vehicles so the dealer is not prepping them mechanically. I purchased an 85 CJ 7 that blew up after driving less than 5 miles. NOT a knock on the dealer but I’m kicking myself for making a foolish impulse purchase after only a 2 mile test drive. An additional $6000 later I have the jeep I was hoping that I was buying. Once again, NOT a knock against the dealer but don’t make the same mistake that I made.

OUT OF STATE BUYER HERE:
Chris Young sold me a 1966 Ford Mustang GT. Everything went smooth as butter. From communication, information, all the way to shipping. My car was delivered to my driveway on time with no complications, in the exact condition I expected it to be in. I really do hope that people that go through these guys actually read the disclaimers. These guys don’t restore/restomod these vehicles in house. They buy and sell. You’re not buying a 2024 car with power steering and bells and whistles. I read a lot of the negative reviews down below and am happy to say that was not the case with me at all. I drove the shit out of that mustang for 9 hours today, and yeah, it’s not perfect, but it’s also 58 years old, as are half the other cars these guys sell. Don’t expect a cherry dream car built by someone else, for 20k? I paid for the car I wanted, and I got exactly that. Zero complaints. Keep up the solid work gents!!

I tried unsuccessfully to sell my vintage VW Westfalia camper via FB and other places. Then I heard about Tim Bolton and AP Vintage Motors in Statesville. I found their model and service to be exceptional and they recently sold my bus at a fair price. Tim even gave me a 30 minute ride home after I delivered the bus to their shop in Statesville NC.

Chris Young did a great job helping me find the Jeep CJ I’ve wanted for a long time. There were two very similar models, but I only saw the automatic and ignored the other thinking they were the same Jeep. I asked Chris about two other Jeeps in stock, but they were both automatics, then he pointed out the manual transmission I overlooked. I was ecstatic. I jumped in my truck, drove 2.5 hours, and Chris showed me the JEEP in detail, gave me a test ride, then a test drive, and I was sold! I drove it home an hour later. This 1984 Jeep CJ-7 Renegade is the Jeep I’ve wanted for years!!! Fantastic experience! All the stars!!! Thanks Chris Young and AV Vintage Motors :)

Out of state purchase. They will not let a outside mechanic qualify the quality of the vehicle's.
This is shady and so is the sale person Chris.
AP has a good record buying auto's but the reviews on purchase are highly questionable.
Horrible experience.

Awful post customer service. I purchased a 1975 International Scout II. Chris Young was the salesman I dealt with. Chris would always answer my calls, gave me confidence about my out of state purchase and said that he would support me on any potential mechanical issues after delivery. Once I received the vehicle and before it even hit the ground out of the shipping container it wouldn’t start. Up to this point Chris always answered his phone even on his “days off.” I called his cell numerous times, with no answer or return call. I called the main office at AP Vintage and got the run around that all cars were “turn key ready.” I was so excited to receive this car because it was a wedding gift for my fiancé and she couldn’t even drive it the day of. I replaced the battery amongst other things and the car still did not function right and was definitely not turn key ready as they told me it would be. I spent $30k of my hard earned money in this car and to have it towed the first day. After a few days of no call backs or return text messages I got an automatic email from AP and Chris which was a total cop out and I felt like a cheap date that was ghosted. This company is out for themselves and obviously does not believe in the products they sell. Too bad that the “fly by night dealerships” get their name from companies like this. I am in sales myself and I always back up my product and support my customers after the sale unlike AP vintage. I personally would never purchase another vehicle out of state without test driving it myself. I learned the hard way and will let you know how much I have to put in this vehicle. It would be nice to drive it and trust that I can leave my driveway in it. If it was possible to give negative stars for this review I would.

I purchased 2 vehicles at the same time from AP Vintage motors in January 2024. One was a 1996 ****** 300ZX TT with 71k. Car was as described, no issues. The 2nd however vehicle was a 1981 Jeep CJ7 and This vehicle was an absolute DEATH TRAP. 100% unsafe for any road, any where at any time in the condition in which I received it. It had a fiberglass body and none of the seats, seat belts or items like that were attached directly to the frame. Instead they were literally just bolted to the fiberglass tub. Absolutely blows my mind they would sell a vehicle with such a lack of the most basic saftey items at least being checked. The wheels rub horrifically on the frame with only about a half turn of the steering wheel because they are grossly oversized. Then we get to the brakes. LITERALLY NON EXISTENT. Nothing, ***** AP Vintage motors claims to fully inspect their vehicles before selling them but 100% truth is that this Jeep is absolutely unsafe to drive in a parking lot, never mind any road!!! I sent them an email concerning all these items right after I purchased it and never got any return message from them. Not a single email, call, letternothing!!!!! Pretty sad!! This was a consignment jeep. Had they driven this Jeep even into their showroom they would have refused to even list it for sale. Do yourself a favor and pay a 3rd party to inspect the vehicle for you!!

I definitely recommend coming in to see their shop. They are true car guys. I have both bought and sold vehicles from them and it was very much a pleasant experience. They are professional and give you individual attention. I couldn't say enough how well they treat their clients. I made friends here!
