What a place! We came from Raleigh and then went for lunch after, and it was worth the trip! You'll find a memory at every turn, and the tour headset + staff, both full of history, are an added bonus. It's not just dolls, there's trains, planes, and structures too. I forgot about many of my own toys from long ago, then was delighted when I discovered one here and there. The staff was happy to run the train or share some of the dolls' secrets. It's also growing all the time, so it's a must go! GO!

This is such a cute little museum. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The collection of dolls and trains are so fun to see, but I was most excited to see the miniature houses. As a miniature house creator myself, it was fun to see this collection.

Didn't know this was here but decided on one of my "day of culture" road trips. It's located on a side street next to the Post office and across from the Transportation museum. Was given the audio tour but some of the audio didn't match the display shown.I was happy to see a few toys I played with as a kid but guess I'm not that old as there weren't too many ?Definitely not a place if your child has to grab every toy they see and mostly would attract young girls for all the dolls inside. Big display of Barbie and Madame Alexander dolls. The boys can enjoy the toy train exhibit in the back. Maybe because I was the only person there it wasn't running. There are also under glass cases match box cars and tractor trailer toys but no DIY model cars.Clearly I'm not the demographic choice for the museum but I enjoyed it anyway. Especially the western section and cap gun display. The audio had me laughing.

Off exit #79 on I-85 in Spencer, NC. $5 each adult. Surprised at how large it was. I remember some of those toys. Train was fun to watch. Loved it. Recommend!

Not to be missed! An exceptional collection of precious dolls from all ages and many unique miniatures. Every single piece is a joy to behold. Some have very interesting histories and some are incredibly rare. It takes a long time to drink in all the details, so give yourself plenty of time to enjoy this magical storehouse of treasures! There are cool trains and planes too.

Marie is wonderful and I cannot believe all the new donations, the big doll houses. So glad you still have the capguns.

We toured the NC Museum of Dolls, Toys, and Miniatures with a group. The museum is open Thursday thru Saturday from 10 AM - 4 PM. It is larger than it looks from the outside of the building. This establishment is more of a large collection of dolls, toys, and miniatures than it is a formal museum. It seems to have been lovingly collected and displayed but was not what we expected when we heard the word museum. You get a bit of a garage sale/ flea market vibe with the way some of the assorted items are placed here and there and yonder in the museum, often with no clear plan in mind. Apparently many people have donated their personal collections of items to the museum. Most people will recognize toys displayed that they had in their childhood. There are just a handful of items for sale. They do not have what most people would recognize as a gift shop. A staff member told our group that they will be moving to another building across the street and will more than double the size of the establishment. I think most people would need no more than 1 hour to visit the museum.

Visiting from out of town & looking for fun activities for the Grandkids. Saw this on Groupon and decided to give it a try. They have several vintage dolls & toys along with a working train village/sm town exhibit. This is not a full day activity. But a fun place to stop and visit. The employees are friendly and knowledgeable about toys. Also, you're bound to see an old toy you used to play with bringing back some childhood memories.
