Purchased a piano at an estate sale and needed it moved within 2 days. Called for a quote and it was within what we researched we would have to pay. They arrived at the time we agreed upon and went straight to work moving the piano from the estate sale to our home. They also took our old piano away and got rid of it. All four men were very pleasant and worked together as a team! They did a great job and knew what they were doing!

While the three workers were pleasant and helpful, the owner was obnoxious when I handed him a check vs. cash, stormed out the front door, demanding that I go to an ATM. He also charged me the full amount, never mentioning my $200 deposit. A call to my bank ended that slick maneuver . . . not to be trusted, especially if you are a senior-citizen widow.

Not showing up on time. Not once but twice. Talks to customers like they are his friends. Very unprofessional!! Price is better than most, but you get what you pay for. Maybe he treats the next customer better. I honestly picked this company after seeing the great reviews. No I’m having buyers remorse.

James & his crew moved our stuff from a storage unit to our house. The were quick, professional & very respectful of our stuff. I would definitely recommend their company for any of your moving needs.

James quoted me a very fair price to move a 2500 sq ft house. A local move that should have taken two days was done in a very long single day with a crew of 4 guys. They even carried off some items that needed to be discarded to the dump. Highly recommend!

J&G Moving is outstanding. They accepted my job request with very little notice and completed it the same day. James and his team were responsible, professional and exceptional in every way. They moved a large order of custom cabinets up and down stairs in a new construction home without issues of any kind. I highly recommend J&G Moving for all of your moving needs.

James quoted me a fair price without being able to see all that needed to be moved from a storage building to our new house. He & Charles did a great job safely moving all of our belongings . Highly recommend them to anyone who needs a mover!! Good trust worthy folks to work with.

I would not recommend this company to anyone. James came to my house to give me an estimate, first clue should have been he only accepts cash. He is dishonest! He NEVER provided me with a receipt for the last $2000 I paid him even after calling him multiple times for that receipt. He claimed to have left it in the mailbox at the resident that I moved from ( which made no sense) but my neighbor checked and it was not there. He and his crew packed shoes with clothing, food items with dishes. I found boxes marked kitchen items containing bedroom closet items. When we arrived to the new address, I found my New mattresses were dirty and my king size mattress ripped. My sofa was dirty. Pictures were not wrapped or protected. Antique furniture that has been moved several times and never taken apart was dismantled. James is not as trust worthy as he wants you to think. He talks a big talk.

J and G moving company was our SAVING GRACE!! I originally hired Liberty Movers to move me and my husband two hours away within NC. Liberty movers DID NOT SHOW UP!!! Apparently their mover put Diesel in the wrong spot of their truck! Their truck could not come move my things. As you may know with moving, you cannot simply reschedule something like this, especially when the move is long distance and you're starting a new job the next day. I called J and G movers and they came in 15 minutes!! I am not exaggerating. They had four men move my things into their truck and fast. They were careful with my belongings, put things away in a strategic way so every space was filled, and they even listened to me cry about how stressed I was. They moved my things into my new home and even made me laugh along the way. Your biggest mistake would be if you did not hire J and G. James Gibson is professional and prices are fair. Thank you James and his staff!

Negative: Absconded with $750.00 down payment.We contacted James Gibson owner or J and D moving regarding an interstate move for my elderly parents. James was personable and likable. James requested a down payment of $750.00 May parents wrote a check for $750.00 the same day James picked up the check and when asked to provide a receipt he was unable to provide receipt. He said he would come back to drop off a receipt. Later that afternoon I received a call from James stating he was unable to cash the check as he did not have two forms of identification.James asked my parents to provide cash rather than a check. Unfortunately my elderly parents drove to James location and gave him $750.00 cash. That evening I received a call from James telling me he was not driving back from the delivery location and need to book 3 flights. James asked me where the closest airport was and how to book a flight as he had never purchased a plane ticket nor had he ever flown. In addition he told me he did not have a credit card.At this point I started to have serious doubts about James' companies ability to fulfill the requirements of this interstate move.It toke several phone calls, text messages and proding over several days to get a receipt from James. James did return a few days later supposedly to drop off a receipt. James had no receipt, my parents asked him a few questions such as: did he have insurance? Could he provide a contract, ect. James was not able to provide proof of insurance , or a contract.Based on that meeting and the multitude of strange business practices we decided to cancel the move with J and G Moving and requested that James return our $750.00 down payment.We have had several conversations as well as written communications with James about returning the down payment. James has promised on several different occasions to stop by with the funds. each day and time James provided has come and gone with no refund or appearance from James.Now, going on 3-weeks James is refusing to take our calls, or text messages. It appears that James has no intention of returning my elderly parents funds. So we are left with the impression that we were swindled by J and G Moving.I would strongly advise any prospective clients to avoid James Gibson or his company J and G moving out of Southern Pines, N.C.I hope this review helps others from being taken advantage of.Rick

James and crew did an excellent moving our furniture. They were extremely careful with our furniture as well as the apartment complex where our moving took place. He is highly recommended and will be used for any of our possibly future moves.

Hi, James and his crew is very successful. They packed and moved our house at Christmas Eve in just 1 day and did not leave the house before completing every thing, it is completed around 9 pm. They were very careful, nothing has been damaged or broken. Nothing! This is my 5th move and this team is the best one, by far. Thank you very much!

James and his crew are amazing!! We did a long distance move from North Carolina to Florida. They were incredibly efficient, pleasant, and cheerful! We did our research to find good movers and we found a gem! If we ever have to move again we would absolutely use them!

Nothing but amazing things to say about James and his team. They were extremely professional but funny all at the same time. Made our move very seemless by not only packing but also moving everything with the care it needed. As for the price they were extremely reasonable compared to other companies in the area and were willing to work everything out with me and my wife to make sure there was never a situation where we felt either party was being cheated. Thanks again guys we really appreciated the help.

I called J and G moving to move a large item within my home. They arrived same day and moved the item safely and quickly without any damage. They are also very nice and professional. Will for sure use again.
