The worst and rudest people work here. I came in asking for help shipping a package and the lady at the front desk was an absolute nightmare. Drive the extra miles to go to another USPS if you want to be treated like a human being.

I had my mail changed to Smithfield thinking I would get decent delivery of my mail. I couldn't be any more incorrect. I have been waiting for a letter that was mailed from Smithfield over 3 weeks ago and still have not received it. The delivery time is normally after 5PM each day and most people need there bills so they can be paid on time. The Smithfield post office is a complete joke of a postal office and I wish I had not made the mistake of changing to them.

My neighbors and I have had countless issues with package deliveries for over a year now and nothing has been done despite us escalating this multiple times. We have cluster mailboxes and packages are CONSTANTLY in incorrect mailboxes and it’s infuriating.The other week I spent 3 hours sitting in front of the mailboxes because my package was in the incorrect mailbox and the person I spoke with at the post office said the mail carrier would be circling back to open the mailbox my package was in. I called after an hour and a half of waiting and was told the same thing. I sat for another hour and a half as I needed to ensure I had the package by EOD. The mail carrier never returned. While sitting for a total of 3 hours, I also submitted a form on the USPS website regarding my misplaced package. I never received an email or voicemail yet I received an email asking for feedback on the resolution. While my neighbors have already contacted Beverly, I did as well and have been waiting for a response for almost 2 weeks now. The lack of urgency and responsiveness is absolutely ridiculous and completely unacceptable. The incompetence of this post office is insane. I’ve never encountered anything like this. I will not stop until something is done about this.

My mail was delivered to the wrong address again. This is the 4th time in 3 years I will have to call the postmaster, so my important package will be found. It's inconvenient and extremely frustrating.

I get the daily email notifications on what is being delivered.... I was outside yesterday and saw the mail carrier pull up across the street, she delivered my neighbor across the street mail then made a right turn and never came back around to deliver my mail.. this isn't the first time I haven't received my mail on the day I'm supposed to

Hard to believe the post office does not have tape to seal packages with you can use, I could see 10 rolls from the front desk.

I generally am not the type to write scathing reviews online, but this is the THIRD time this has happened since moving here and I am TIRED OF IT. I scheduled a pickup for mail yesterday because I run my business out of my home and had a couple hundred pounds of mail to go out. Not ONLY did they NOT show for the pick-up, they sent a confirmation e-mail showing the pick-up was complete!! I sat here waiting ALL day for them to show just to give up at 6pm and check my email and there was my "confirmation" that the carrier had picked up...and the NEVER SHOWED! It's Saturday and now I have to wait until Monday for my orders to go out. It's not going to kill anyone, but can they at LEAST DO THEIR JOB if they are going to charge us more and more for it??

This is a great Post Office, all of the clerks are knowledgeable and let me tell you they work HARD, I can attest to that! Tamala is always helping customers save money by offering smart shipping options, Nebra is super knowledgeable about everything within the Post Office, Victor is helpful and not to mention funny he will always give you a good laugh and last but not least Benilda is wonderful, hardworking and she is very knowledgeable about the products inside the USPS. Please understand that working for the USPS is not for the weak this is a very busy and time demanding organization. This location is blessed to have skilled clerks all around the board.

Clayton PO closed at 4:30pm, so I had to go into Smithfield. There was a line, but it didn't take long to get thru. Very helpful staff. They listened to the customer and they tried to help. One lady listened to the customer who didn't really explain why she wanted to pay extra, when she could have returned an item for free. Victor helped us and was patient with me as I had a few mistakes in what I was shipping. Over all, a great experience. Better than what I expected, close to closing time.

I have been getting past residents mail I have filled out forms telling who lives there to no avail. I recently called and complained after repeated sending mail back only to go out to my box to find all the mail belonged to someone else. Now I call the post office and no one answers time for a visit.
