I saw very little to do with a garden center in here. A majority of the garden center floor space is now dedicated to Christmas gifts mainly bicycles. Didn't count them but was between one and two hundred! I saw almost zero garden things! Ok it's Walmart! They can do as they please! Fine! I just went up the street to Lowe's and they have a ton of garden related things!

Horrible customer service in sporting goods. Shannon the lady behind the counter is extremely rude and refused to help me after I confronted her about it. Spoke with manager and she assured me that she would handle it. Shannon was upset that I was looking in the ammo display cabinet and was one step to far in apparently, it is Walmart not the CIA Headquarters. She acted like I had committed a Felony for looking closely. She obviously does not know how to talk to people. Otherwise the store is typically well stocked and clean and people are friendly. Just avoid Shannon in the sporting goods section.

Worst customer service ever. Employees blame the changes on the remolding for the changes in customer service. I purchased a product that had a coupon on that was for that specific brand and type and was not expired, when checking out it did not scan employee told me that the manager is the only person that can input. She called the manager over who said if it don't scan they don't honor. It was on the product they were selling. Their response is we will tell the vendor and walked off.

Trying to work with the front desk is miserable! Linda the "manager" (no name tag so who knows??) was so unhelpful and down right rude today. Maybe some additional training in service would benefit her!

I shop this Walmart alot. This is based on my newest visit. They seem to always have what I am looking for compared to the local one I live near. This one I was very impressed with just before Christmas they were well stocked on merchandise. The only thing I had a problem with finding is some vegetables I needed. They were totally out of heads of lettuce I had to buy a different kind for my Mom. And no cucumbers I had to get a package of petite cucumbers. Other than that I got everything I needed to finish up before Christmas. I am so glad I stopped here I found one gift I had been looking all over for. This store was very busy but the self checkouts went pretty fast. I was happy I didn't stand in line too long after shopping for hours. My last stop before Christmas. Yay!

Better than some, not as good as some, this Walmart was "A-OK." Busy and with a mask mandate still in effect at least through my visit here, it was disappointing to see so many people flouting the requirement. Of course, Walmart doesn't enforce it or even suggest anything to customers. So I was in, out and done as quickly as possible. I found that most of what I wanted was in stock in the beverage and snacks, plus a couple of items in the RV/auto section. Every day low prices. There was no registers open only self check out. The lady watching the area was rude. They had a discount aisle of Halloween candy but only a 3rd of it was discounted the rest was normal bagged candy at regular price. When I asked an employee where multi pack of Bic lighters were, I was informed that too many people steal them so they no longer put them out.. so where or how do you get them. The shelves were empty, items weren't priced. I know in this one trip I couldn't get about 4 things and put back about 3 because wasn't sure of price. One employee actually took time to help me, when she looked up an item by scanning it with her machine it told her it was out of stock. Sp didn't buy that either. Came to Shelby because Gaffney's location is bad but at least they will have one cashier checking you out.

Unhelpful staff, rude customers and overpriced products and services in every department. Unfortunately, this location is a perfect example of why I try to avoid Walmart at all costs and why I always feel disappointed if I find I must go here to get something I can't find elsewhere. Walmart is a poorly run company to begin with, but this location is exceptionally bad. If you need car service, go somewhere else. They'll scare you into thinking they lost your keys. And employees will complain to you about their coworkers. If you need to return an item, take it to another store. The return line is a nightmare that seems to always be a guaranteed waste of 30 minutes or more for me, no matter who's running the desk. And from employees who've worked as stockers, I hear quite a bit of horseplay goes on with products in the back before they hit the shelves. This isn't the kind of place I like to spend my time or my money.

If you come needing something it'll be out of stock. If you check online first and it shows it's in stock I can guarantee it will still be out of stock. The employees don't give a damn and refuse to help you and on top of that the store is always messy. Also products are often mispriced and ring up at the wrong price. Do yourself a favor and shop elsewhere the store in Shelby NC sucks!

I have to say, I'm giving this store 4 stars because the tire and lube area really impressed me today. I can't give it a 5, because the store itself is fine, not great. I went in for an oil change and they were fast, nice and when I got in my car there was a letter from the store and area managers along with a small bouquet of flowers saying thanks and to let them know how they did. Very sweet, and I'm impressed. Also only $30 for all sorts of stuff that Pennzoil didn't do (tire, filter, battery check, fluids etc) in the same town for almost $40. I'm sold - going to Walmart for my oil changes.

Poorly stocked. Lots of empty shelves. Nothing more frustrating than an empty slot where the product you want was.... They still have great prices (that's how they get you to come back). The grocery section is good for canned goods, cereals, detergent, TP and other staples. Suprisingly they have a decent beer selection and they do carry Haagen Daz. We even tried their premium steaks and they were "Meh!" all the way, verging on "not very good". Sometimes you can actually find a better deal on products online than in store (two different prices) - they wouldn't honor the price, so I ordered it online and had it shipped to store. Did they just pull the product off the shelf to fulfill the order? No, they actually shipped another one. Can anyone say inefficient?

This is a pretty below average Wal-Mart. The grocery side of the store isn't bad, but they rarely restock or clearance anything in the toy department. Not a good store for collectors looking for action figures. They have such a limited selection compared to other Wal-Marts. They also rarely have checkout lanes open or enough check out lanes open.
