I moved to Shelby almost 3 years ago. Within this time I have had my challenges with finding a good nail salon. My previous nail tech in Charlotte was awesome. However, I did not want to travel 45 minutes in One Direction for my nails. I went to Kay nails twice when I first moved to Shelby. I Stopped because I did not feel welcomed. As an African-American woman I was made to fill as if I wasn’t valued, nor did they want my business. I then went to another nail salon for almost a year when the owner told a story and casually use the N-word. Needless to say, I’m no longer patronized her business. One of the nail tech left the old salon and went to work at Kay nails. After a mutual friend advised me Lisa (nail tech) was working at K nails. I have booked a total of three appointments with Lisa And when I tempted to book my fourth appointment, I was told she no longer worked at K nails. I later found out through a mutual friend she was terminated because K Nails no longer wanted “those type of customers“. I later found out the owner met African-Americans. Needless to say, I will not patronize the business anymore, and I am extremely disappointed. I guess racism is real and I will travel to Charlotte to get my nails, manicured and pedicure. Shaking my head so sad. I really hope this is not true, but based on my own personal experience prior to this event, I can believe that it is.

Great service, but my pedicurist got caught up in a conversation with a customer throughout the majority of my pedicure and it was not only distracting, she wasn’t paying attention to what she was doing. A lackluster scrub / massage on my feet and legs, while she was chatting.

I'm always a little nervous to try new nail salons but this one did not disappoint. I was promptly and politely seated. I found the place is immaculately clean. Prices are fair and the result was fantastic. When in Shelby...this will be my go to place.

Always my favorite! I drive 30 minutes to come in and get my pedi. It's always so peaceful and the foot massage is so relaxing!

If I could give this place a negative score I definitely would. I’ve walked in twice and was turned away with them saying they couldn’t fit me in. There’s no way this place is that busy. I went an hour after opening and mid day on a separate occasion. What’s the “real” issue? I would not go there again if it were free.

Jenny did a great job, my daughter & I got a deluxe pedicure & manicure gift certificate for Christmas!!! It was fantastic! My daughter completely enjoyed herself! I highly recommend asking for Jenny.

I went to K Nails to get gel nails for the holidays but I am so pleased with the results that I may keep them year round. The K Nails staff were all friendly and obviously talented in their field.The prices were reasonable and I will definitely be back!

Being a new resident to NC, I made a scheduled appt with another salon and after waiting 35 mins past my appt time, I left. I called K Nails and they were able to fit me in same day. They greeted me when I walked in, let me take my time to choose my color (most places rush you) and barely a 5 min wait before I was seated. Lisa did a fantastic job! She was very gentle and quick as well. I left very impressed and the atmosphere is definitely top notch compared to most others in the area. Already made my next appt!

Went with my mother to get pedicures . Checked reviews before going and not disappointed at all. Service was wonderful and as walk in clients got helped right away. Definitely recommend and will go back !!
