I just purchased a used compact tractor, 3025e from James River/Shelby and can't say enough kind words for their customer service. It was above and beyond and not to mention a great price. These people know how to treat a customer!!!!!! Btw, love the tractor too!
I have to revise my review,,,, I never received a manual for my tractor but it was used so it was not totally expected. I contacted Ron at the Shelby store to ask if he had found one and he is ordering me a new manual. I WISH I COULD RATE RON AND JAMES RIVER 10 STARS!!!! Thanks again for the wonderful customer service!!!

I am not usually the one to leave a bad review. Maybe one other in my entire life. But, I feel it’s important to share the experience we’ve had so others are not disappointed like we were.
We purchased our mower here approximately six years ago and have had it regularly serviced here since purchase with no issues.
This time we dropped off our mower, it was running perfectly fine, no issues. Receive a call after standard maintenance was completed after a few days. Arrived to pickup the mower and pay $290 for the standard maintenance which is a bit high in my opinion. I do understand inflation - but six years ago we were paying around $150 for the same service. But, we were willing to pay as we’ve trusted this business since the beginning.
My husband could not get the mower to start to load it and haul it home. It ran perfectly fine at the time of drop off. Wouldn’t even turn over at pickup.
The technicians offered to take a look at it and call us with answers. My husband had to take an empty trailer back home and wait for a call. We received a call later in the day and were informed that the mowers starter was bad and they could fix it for approximately $425. No acknowledgement that the mower was dropped off with no issues starting/turning over, etc. We were told “sorry, this is the cost to fix the issue we found.”
While I understand things break, I just feel that we dropped our mower off in one condition and couldn’t receive it back, after paying for a service, in the same or better condition. Simple expectations.
We are sad that this is how this business is being operated and will not be spending any additional money at James River Equipment now or in the future.

Had our mower over a week had to call when it was going to be returned then get an earful of things that need to be changed but no phone call to inform us before hand.

I had a issue with a cashier nothing major but he basically made fun of me because of my lack of knowledge. He was right I was not as smart as him about John Deere equipment. I wrote a note to the management and received a phone call with a apology for cashier and told to ask for him on my next visit the person was absolutely concerned about my bad experience.thanks
