Y'all this sausage...is amazing! Grabbed some frozen to make later and it is some of the best sausage I have had since my grandfather made our sausage. Girl keep that tradition going, it is a lost art and your sausage is amazing! Your grandparents would be so proud. Don't sleep on this! If your in the area get some to bring home for sure! ??❤️

Super awesome store / eatery / deli I got some of the famous sausage "sage spicy" it was soooo good! Some of the best sausage ice ever had.

Ever since they made Sam leave, the place has gone downhill. They don't have anywhere near the amount of products they used to. Hardly any produce. They only have one brand of bottled water and hardly any in stock. Even their meat selection has dwindled. You're better off going to Dollar General or even BP.

Such a great breakfast! They were able to accommodate our large group and our food was delicious and came out fast. I’d love to return for lunch. The menu looked wonderful.

Historic Thompson’s Store offers a wide selection of products and local merchandise, so many different jams, molasses and honey. There was a a cheese and meat counter. We bought some bacon and ground sausage to take home for breakfast. It was very good. Definitely stop by when visiting Saluda NC.

It is truly an old time grocery store. A meat counter, softdrinks and the essential items. The clerk was very helpful. We are sad we missed the time of day that they serve food.

Wasn't able to eat here but they had a wide variety of gifts and food in North Carolina's oldest grocery store! Definitely a must visit while in Saluda. Try their local honey..it's one of the best I've had!

23JUN23 ~ Beautiful Historic Downtown Saluda is throw back fond nostalgia for anyone old enough and lucky enough to have grown up in a small rural town. The exterior of Thompson's grocery store could be original, based on appearance, but the interior is like a state of the art modern grocery store. I went in there once to purchase bananas and the young woman, probably local from her genuinely friendly & helpful attitude, said that they did not have any bananas but the the Hardware Store down the street did have bananas. Don't you just love the small towns and their friendly ways...
