I do not care to go back, it was a bucket list and enjoyed it. My wife and daughter both became sick from the drive.

Very technical motorcycle road. Fantastic road. It's very long. 20 miles from Tennessee side and 30 miles from North Carolina side. It's worth the ride. Be careful..
US129 aka Tail of the Dragon is a public highway and always open to Traffic. The Tail of the Dragon Tshirt Shack and Killboy have a storefront in North Carolina at the intersection of US129 and NC28, look for the Big Metal Dragon. The store is open seasonally from March thru November, hours generally are 9am to 6pm.
