Beautiful place! Rude staff. Lousy service. No need to go back.

We have passed by here a dozen times on motorcycles or in the Jeep while riding through the mountains. We finally stopped to check it out. What a great decision. We spent the night and had a wonderful time. The food was great, the staff was like family and the atmosphere was amazing. We enjoyed our stay so much we are coming back for a second visit.

Matt, working in the bar, gave us great service and was extremely friendly. Our visit was much more enjoyable due to his efforts. This is an absolutely beautiful place to sit outside and have a meal or a drink. The drinks and food we had were also very good. We will be back.

A wonderful getaway for our 27th anniversary. This place was amazing. The guest service was friendly and very helpful. The room was great for just the 2 of us. The landscape and amenities were awesome. Everything was perfect. Will definitely be back. A special thank you to Valerie for the best weekend you helped us plan.
Food & drinks: We had dinner both nights at Tapoco Tavern and the food was delicious. We had breakfast at the Cheoah Dining room and it was great too. The service was excellent.

Great location with a great view. The only adult I saw working here was behind the bar. Our sausage mushroom onion pizza came with no sausage and the other toppings were sparse. The 18 yo waitress blamed it on the new 16 yo cook. We ate it anyway as we hadn’t eaten since breakfast and it was after 5. My $14 old fashioned wound up being $21 because Woodford is an upcharge. If Woodford is a premium here I hate to know what the standard is. People rave about the pizza and it’s ok not spectacular. They put something on the crust to make it sticky and sweet???

I stayed here a couple years ago, apologies for the late review. Unfortunately someone just reminded me about our ordeal, and I felt the need to share my experience.
1st of all, the lodge is beautiful… the location, the cleanliness, and for the most part… the staff is friendly.
However, we stayed for 2 nights, and from the time we arrived until the time we left the power was out (in the cabins). I didn’t care about Wi-Fi, but we couldn’t see to shower, couldn’t charge our phones (needed them for GPS), and couldn’t make food or coffee. Honestly I probably would’ve gotten over it except for the part when I approached the ladies at the front desk…. I asked if they would be willing to compensate us in any way. THEY LAUGHED AT ME, and said no. Actually they did say: “we can give you some way to start the [wet wood] fire outside”.
I was shocked, but I kept my cool. We got the biggest cabin and paid an inordinate amount of money to stay in a place with no power.. and they laughed about even the mention of partial compensation.
Anyways, place was beautiful but whoever was at the desk those few days can eat my shorts. Cheers!

Lunch here never disappoints. The food is superb, and enjoying it while sitting out beside the flowing river is as relaxing as it gets.

Tapoco Lodge near Robbinsville North Carolina has a picturesque setting with mountains around and a stream right by it. The rooms are well kept, historic and comfortable. Grounds are nice with several places to sit and enjoy the water. Occasionally you will see Kayakers paddling on the river stream. Charming place with a friendly staff. Not far from the Dragon's Tail!

An iconic place in the Robinsville area! Wonderful food and the first row seating for the river release rafting!

The staff and service are excellent here. This place whispers relax and enjoy.
Rooms: The lodge rooms are rustic. This an old lodge from the 1930's. Bedding is superior. The cabins are more modern. Wi-Fi is available, but cellular service is scant to non-existent.
Nearby activities: "Tail of the Dragon." Enough said.
Walkability: Many trails available.
Food & drinks: Breakfast and fine dining in the lodge. Pizza and other foods are available in the lower level lounge. Small quiat bar in the main lodge and a larger one located on the lower level near the river.

We’ve stayed at the cabins for 3 years. This year they changed our cabin to the lodge. We had the reservation for a year! We can’t climb steps. We cancelled and oh boy are we angry and disappointed
