My original review from 2 years ago is below. I am revoking my high rating and giving 1 star.I visited this urgent care today 4/19/24 and was denied medical treatment by Evan Dapo, PA. I am appalled by his outright dismissal of my pain and discomfort. I will never come here again.My experience with Dr. Caro and Mary was wonderful today. Although the nature of my visit is very embarrassing post on here, the pain was my focus. They were extremely caring, gentle, and made it very comfortable. I left with a huge relief in my pain and its safe to say I'm doing much better now because of them.

Hands down, this is the BEST urgent care I have ever been to. I have gone on several occasions and each and every time, the staff and care is beyond exceptional. I have seen Dr. Panko numerous times and his care and compassion is amazing. In a time when patients are treated as a "number" it is refreshing to know there are medical professionals out there who truly have a heart.

A relative, who was a child, was sent home without any diagnostic testing. "No fever" so told his vomiting and malaise was "a stomach virus." Went the next day to the newer urgent care off Forestville Road and sure enough, he had strep throat.This is not the first time my family had a bad experience here. Normally I do not post for one circumstance or even two - sometimes things are just off or I'm biased due to stress, fatigue, etc. Yet there is a consistency here, over the years, that reeks of a problem in this establishment that affects not only the patient experience but also the quality of care. This is not a place to take your sick child.

Would not help my daughter with a dislocated jaw. They never even took her back to see if they could help her. Then the staff at the front was rude and not helpful at all!!

The only star goes to the medical assistant Angie who was amazing. The dumbfounded PA who had put in my discharge paperwork BEFORE EVEN SEEING ME was why this experience could not be 5 starts. William Panzo PA to be precise, is a disservice to wakemed urgent care and was definitely taught to LOOK at the patient especially before putting in their discharge. Do not go here if you need actual help and medical advice. Great for machine testing only ?

Today, my son went with terrible ear pain and the doctor said the possibility of ear wax. They don't have anything to take out the wax. The doctor asked me to get debrox from pharmacy to clear the wax.

If you want to be treated kindly from the moment you arrive until the moment you leave. This is the perfect place, thank you for the attention from the reception to the doctor who treated us. Thank you ☺️

In terms of patient care, my experience is their medical staff are a 5 star. But their hours posted are incorrect. I arrived this evening and walked in at 7:24 only to be told they had already seen their last patient. Front desk people were not very helpful and dismissive. They said I could come back at 8 am...over 12 hours later. Apparently they were just killing time for 35 minutes. I didn't see them doing much. The open until 8 is very misleading. If your policy is to stop seeing people at a much earlier times then post it. They are not "open" until 8:00. Again, medical care is top notch here. But I am disappointed in this aspect of their services.

I had a visit with PA Evan and he was the most kind and empathetic provider I have met with in a very long time. 10/10! WakeMed Urgent Care checked me in quickly and I was in and out within 30 mins. We all hope that we don't ever have to go to an Urgent Care, but if you've ever got to go, I would recommend this place and Evan as a provider.

Dr. Chou, his male nurse and the woman at the front desk were all very kind, caring and knowledgeable. I highly recommend this clinic. They were all very helpful.

I have been here once due to me coughing up blood. The doctor and nursing staff are super great and friendly. They took care of me and did the best they could to assist. I cannot not say the same for the women at the front desk. I have never felt so belittled and disgusted of how they treated me. The way they would speak to me as if I was a 4 year old child not knowing what I was saying or doing. She even got visibly upset when they found out I was pregnant. She said and I quote “um why didn’t you mention that earlier” with the most condescending tone. The whole time my blood was boiling and I was wanting to tell her off. The only reason why I didn’t was because of how I was feeling. As someone who used to work at the front desk at a UNC clinic I would have never treated a patient the way she did. There is such a thing about patient experience. And lo and behold my husband goes in today and was treated the exact same way by a different woman. Now I understand why they have a sign at the front desk about no altercations with the staff. Be prepared for these women to push your buttons. If I ever have to come here again for some reason I will not tolerate the disrespect and let them know to check themselves.

This is the 2nd week in a row you guys have been running on a skeleton shift. Hour and half wait time is extremely unreasonable. I’ve been told several doctors are out sick which while I understand, doesn’t make sense that other doctors can’t be floated around from other locations to fill the gap.The only reason I come to this location is it’s typically on the weekend when my primary is closed and I also really like Evan Dapo.Please do something to help out the sick people in this area.

Our experience at WakeMed Urgent Care was second to none. They were extremely busy the day we went but once we were brought back to the exam room you would never have known. The caring, attentive and kind treatment we got was so refreshing. Nurse Michelle and PA Ivan were the best team ever!! Thankful to have been treated by them. If you ever cant get into your primary care doc and need to be seen, I highly recommend you go see them.
