All business- no heart! When I first saw the beauty of The Maxwell as my son and his fiancé chose it as their wedding venue, I was very impressed. The pictures are amazing!Then, my son experienced devastating news that he lost his job and they realized that they were going to have to wait on the wedding planning and use the deposit money more urgently. They went to The Maxwell management and shared the reality of their story…expecting compassion and grace especially knowing that their wedding date is over a year and a half away. We were shocked and dismayed that they would not return the much needed deposit money for this young couple. It broke my heart.It also breaks my heart to share this story because the venue is so beautiful…just think before signing on the dotted line…for them…it’s all business after that.*** reaction to “owners response”…thank you for taking the time to respond. I totally understand that your company has a cancellation policy and that you feel you “must” stick with it. That’s fine, it’s your company and your choice.Your response demonstrates my point that you choose “business policy” over giving a young couple mercy in a time of great need. (Business over heart). You prove my point even more by saying that you have to turn other couples away. This proves that it is easy and quick to fill their slot that is over a year and a half away.As far as comparing your company to a large airline with non-refundable tickets, that’s fair and seems very accurate…business over anything else.I feel it is not fair to make the bold statement that you “are not in it for the money but to help couples”, because, knowing a young couple must relinquish a date a year and a half in advance due to unforeseen emergencies, would have been a great time demonstrate this.I just want others to know the story before they “get locked in”. There is a great marketing book called the “Six Thousand Dollar Egg” that is very applicable here. The $6,000 Egg represents the costly mistake of removing customer satisfaction from the bottom line. Through the story of a $6,000 Egg, Deb Duncan and Todd Duncan reveal that even the smallest interactions have the power to create lifelong patrons, or on the flipside, alienate once-devoted customers or NEW customers. I would recommend your small, family run business read it together.Reviews like this allow many many people to make an informed decision on companies they do business with. Guest experience is more important than the “bottom line”.Thanks again for responding…I feel it has allowed others to hear from the owner, who, in my opinion, demonstrates my points.

The venue itself is stunning. I had the opportunity to work with Tova and the entire Maxwell staff. They are all amazing and go out of their way to ensure you have a perfect day. I would not change a thing.

The Maxwell was hands down the best wedding venue for our special day. It met every single one of our needs and our wedding was incredibly organized and well planned out. The Maxwell has everything you could possible need/want for your wedding. The space offers multiple possibilities for ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, etc. The staff on site is INCREDIBLE! We certainly hit the jackpot on our Coordinator Tova. The entire team truly cared about our wedding and ensuring it was everything we dreamed it would be! 10/10!!! <3

I'm a wedding photographer and had the opportunity to work with The Maxwell for a wedding in Fall of 2023. I was blown away by the space as well as the staff. Their dream team helped everything run smoothly and made sure the vendors were thriving, even with some unexpected rain showers. It was a beautiful, stress free day for the couple and there were countless gorgeous backdrops for their photos. I definitely plan to recommend this venue and hope to work there again soon!

The Maxwell is such a beautiful venue! We hosted our pre-wedding event there, and the team helped us execute such an incredible evening! There was not a single moment where we felt worried or concerned with how their services were going, thanks to their wonderful team! We had an absolute blast kicking off our pre-wedding event at The Maxwell, and we couldn't have imagined a better way to celebrate.Some points below that we felt were worth pointing out:- The guests were very impressed by the bar services and how kind the bartenders were!- The venue is so beautiful that we didn't require much decor.We and the guests had so much fun partying it up at The Maxwell before the wedding the next day. The venue and your staff were such a large part of our overall wedding experience, they did a great job helping us bring our vision to life from start to finish and made the night beyond perfect for us!

I cannot rave enough about the Maxwell. From the moment we walked in we knew this was our venue! Not only is it beautiful but the staff is very welcoming and make the wedding planning process a breeze. We had Chelsea the owner give us our tour and she answered any and every question we had as we began the wedding process. She was also very communicative throughout the process which made us feel like we were really well taken care of.We had Tova as our planner and we are so glad we did. I could not imagine not having her on our big day. She made sure everything was organized, everyone was where they needed to be when they needed to be there, and she made sure to address any concerns I had prior to our wedding day which made me feel like I could really relax and enjoy the day. She coordinated so well with our other vendors you would’ve thought they were a team that had worked together for years. I had a lot of guests tell me they have never been to a wedding where the venue and staff were so organized while making sure everyone was having a good time.Now let’s talk about the venue it’s self. The getting ready room was roomy and cozy all at the same time. We all had enough room to get ready while not being completely on top of eachother. We went with an outdoor ceremony and an indoor reception. Something I loved about the Maxwell is how versatile the space is. You also have the option to have an indoor ceremony or have that as a backup plan. Whether you pick an indoor or outdoor wedding you can really make it your own. The fire place inside is such a beautiful touch and makes the space warm and inviting. The lobby is spacious enough for your guests. We had a good amount of people in that area along with bistro tables, a card/gift table, Photo Booth, memorial table and bar. Our biggest concern has having enough dancing space for our guests along with having enough room for tables and chairs. The Maxwell was able to accommodate our request.Again, I cannot rave about this venue enough. Thank you Chelsea, Tova and your team for hosting our event.

The Maxwell was absolutely perfect for our wedding. Most of our guests were from out of town so we were looking for a venue that was very close to hotels, had an outdoor ceremony space, and had a modern feel. This was the only in the venue that fit everything we were looking for, and we couldn't have asked for better. Unfortunately, due to rain, our outdoor ceremony was moved inside, but it was still perfect. Tova, the in-house coordinator, made sure that everything translated perfectly to inside, and you would have never known it was not intended to be that way. If you are booking at the Maxwell, I highly recommend having Tova as your coordinator. She was absolutely amazing from the beginning to the very end. All of the Maxwell staff are so kind and they made our day so great. Everything we had imagined for our wedding day was brought to life. The venue itself is so beautiful. We were thankful that it stopped raining after our ceremony so that we could have some pictures on their patio. If we could do it all over again, I would choose the Maxwell without a doubt.

If you’re thinking about having your wedding at The Maxwell I’d have to say you’re making the right choice. Their team’s attention to detail, professionalism and event hosting skills are second to none. They truly care about their couples and every aspect of their day. Each wedding hosted there is truly unique and always very well executed. As a wedding vendor I always look forward to coming back to The Maxwell and helping their couples have the best wedding possible.

We absolutely loved The Maxwell! Not only is this venue beautiful, the team here is so easy to work with. The forecast for our wedding day was touch and go but the team was able to have both our rain plan and outdoor plan ready to go (luckily we were able to have the wedding outside as planned). The bar staff provided by the venue was also amazing. One of the things I loved about the venue were the showcase events so we could meet vendors and see The Maxwell decorated. Cannot say enough good things about this venue!!

Had my wedding here over the past weekend with Tova as our coordinator and everything was perfect. Tova and the maxwell team did such a great job at making sure everything looked great, that everything ran smoothly, and that my questions got answered quickly while I was in the middle of planning. 10/10 experience. Wish we could’ve stayed longer - had SO many compliments from guests and everyone was obsessed with the venue. Thank you Tova & team!!!

We had the most amazing wedding day and experience with The Maxwell. The employees are all so friendly and accommodating. From our initial viewing of the venue I could tell they were super organized. On our wedding day there were scattered storms forecasted all day but I really wanted an outdoor ceremony. They worked with me to set up the ceremony both outdoors and indoors so that I didn’t have to make an abrupt decision early in the day regarding the rain plan. The weather ended up cooperating for the hour it needed to for us to have our ceremony outside. Dreams do come true and The Maxwell is here to see to it! Thank you to The Maxwell team you guys are amazing!!!

We had an amazing experience working with Maddie at The Maxwell! She and the rest of the staff made sure we had the easiest planning process and were able to relax on the wedding day, handling everything for us without even having to ask! In addition, the venue is absolutely beautiful and we got so many compliments from guests on the space and all of our vendors (which came recommended from The Maxwell). I would recommend this venue to anyone!
