So glad I visited this location. Nikki helped me find the correct foundation shade and the young lady at the register with the braids assisted me with a correct purchase. My favorite location so far... I'll definitely bring shopping here again

This is one of my favorite Sephora locations. It’s always clean and well stocked. The staff has always been polite, friendly, and informative. They genuinely seem interested in my questions and have always been helpful. I’m puzzled by some of the reviews, as I’ve always had a positive experience. As customers, we should also practice using our best manners. Actually… just use them all the time. It just might make your day a little brighter.

This trip was so disappointing, me and my friends went in to check some products out and the minute we got in, we clearly heard the manger saying “ we need more people in the front”. Treating us like we’re criminals and didn’t even bother to greet us. Then when we started going around the store the employees kept following us around and at first I didn’t think it was actually happening but when u branched off I legit saw the manger start to move in the same direction and stood by each aisle I went into. We all felt so uncomfortable and wanted to leave so bad. Never want to go back here. It was so humiliating and embarrassing. What’s even worse is that we people of color were treated like this but when these white people came in they were greeted very nicely and left alone and just asked once while we were being watched and bombarded with questions. I would never recommend anyone going here. And if you still go, be careful!!

I had an AWESOME experience with Lenae (who’s name I’ve almost certainly spelled incorrect- sorry!). They were fantastic! I’d booked a Personal Shopper Service online and when I got there (early) they’d already read my notes, had ideas, and were willing to explain everything. They were also just so personable and put my apprehensive self at ease. It was exactly what I needed, and their recommendations were perfect. 10/10 would recommend.

Went to return something I purchased online that I used Klarna for at check out. First cashier person that attended me was super nice and tried to figure out why the machine was asking me for a card, when Klarna doesn’t use a physical card. The second associate who came in to figure it out said I had to give the same Klarna card I used, but again there is no physical card. She was super unhelpful and also made no sense and kept asking me to come up with a card that didn’t exist or take store credit. I went outside and called Sephora customer service and he said that I’m correct there is no physical card needed to process the return in store for Klarna. The Sephora customer service processed the return for me on the phone thankfully and apologized that the store person gave me a hard time. Thankful he helped and I’m getting my refund without even having to return the product. I would say don’t bother coming in here if you used a virtual card online for your order. Just call Sephora customer service on the phone and they’ll be more helpful :)

Went in for some help with red dry skin. Thank you Katie for making it an easy experience! Katie at Village District Sephora is excellent and has amazing customer service! She made me feel comfortable and was able to recommend products that do exactly what I was looking for. Highly recommend this location! Especially for anyone unsure of what they need!

Everytime i go in here i get disappointed each and every time. The staff in here are so rude, and continuously always seem to think I am stealing, due to my marc Jacobs tote bag. It is so obvious as multiple employees follow me around the store, without asking me for help. The second I needed help/had a question, the gentlemen that worked there gave me attitude, and eyed me putting the product back. I began to ask another employee a question and she gave me more attitude. She stated "i was not talking to you, i was talking to another guest." Im done shopping at this sephora and being treated like a criminal.

So I visited from Texas for a week with no makeup and 2 formal/semi formal events. I knew what I wanted which was the IT Cosmetics CC Cream with 50 SPF! Tik Tok had already sold me on it ( the coverage is AMAZING). Well I used the shade finder tool and was stuck between 2 shades so I found my nearest Sephora! I was helped by the Beautiful, knowledgeable, personable and PATIENT Raena! Representation matters and it can be really tough finding a stylist of any sort let alone makeup who understand skin of color. Well Raena went above and beyond in my eyes. She also suggested a couple of her faves after probing me to find out what I really needed and wanted! She also gave me the most cost effective route seeing as it was just for 2 days. After partying till 6 I’m the morning both days I will be purchasing the O/S “On til Dawn” setting spray and and setting powder as well as the Sephora concealer. It’s also important to know that my skin can get very oily. Just before an after party I would spray my brush with the setting spray and tap my face and it would look as if I just put on my make up! I know this review is lengthy but I want y’all to feel me lol I also rarely do reviews so yeah…. My hair stylist and Raena had me feeling myself I was getting so many compliments. Give Raena a Raise Sephora she is amazing!

The store itself is beautiful, but at this point, I’ve had multiple negative encounters with a staff, and it’s rubbing me the wrong way. The first time it happened, we were checking out and the girl checking us out, was very chatty and was educating us about the product we maybe asked one question. As we were leaving, we overheard her complaining about how she had to talk to us to the next customer. That left a really bad taste in our mouth.We then came back because we were so excited to get one of the new lip oils from rare beauty. When asking about the availability one of the staff rudely cut me off and asked, “what’s your question.” Then proceeded to cut me off again as I was explaining my question, asking me “exactly what shade are you interested in.”Overall, I can’t figure out for the life of me why the staff come off as entitled and rude here. I really would not like to go to Southpoint just to pick up makeup, but at this point I’ve had three encounters that make me feel uncomfortable. They need to do some retraining and teach them how to have good customer service. We are the ones paying and visiting your store. Make us feel welcome because at this point, I don’t want to go back. Honestly, I’m now going to order the lip oils directly off of the rare beauty website instead of Sephora.

All the workers here are lovely! Haven’t had too many ask an irritating amount oftimes if I need help, or followed around the store. As a shy, quiet black girl that’s important to me. They always have good stock, very organized and clean. Four stars because the hours aren’t the best. Open late, close early. :/

Ohh my gosh! I just had one of the best Sephora interactions/ check outs ever. A new worker (?) was super sweet to me - knew so much and gave great advice. So inviting and so nice. Give her a raise. I’m asking for her when I come in - even though I don’t know her name! She’s a gorgeous Asian woman with beautiful black hair.

Great store and will absolutely go back. I was completely lost trying to find a foundation. I haven't bought foundation in several years (only wore a CC cream). Giselle helped me find a Lancome foundation color matched for me and I love it. Thank you Giselle!

I'm very happy to have a Sephora in the village district area. It definitely fills in a gap in this location as there was no beauty type store really close by. Consider this location to be a more compact version of a mall Sephora. It's still expansive and I was genuinely surprised at how much variety they carry. Whenever I pop into the location, I am greeted within seconds and asked if I need help. They do not bother you or keep checking in on you which I appreciate. Oftentimes I'll know exactly what I need but i like to wander and test and smell things, some one will periodically check in but not in an annoying or pushy way. I've seen them doing beauty consultations and color matching during my visits and they are very attentive to helping customers find the right products for them and I never felt like they were just trying to upsell. They also make sure the customers knows how to use the product at home which is important.Some of the areas were a bit disappointing for me like the fragrances, they don't carry as many fragrances as other stores but they do have a nice assortment. Their hair section is pretty full and they have good options for textured hair as well. All in all, I really like this Sephora and typically visit at least once a week.
