WHATS WRONG WITH THIS STORE?
It’s seems like a flea market. The store is a mess everywhere. Everything is disorganized. They don’t have employees, the dressing rooms are always closed. I stopped going for a few months but this summer I wanted to give them the opportunity again because the location is great, but they are definitely worst than before.

I shopped at the Ross Dress for Less in Durham, NC at the Brier Creek location on Saturday, 5/25/24. After ringing up my clothes my bill came to $79.28. I insert my debit card and the money was deducted out of my account. The system would not generate a receipt and the cashier said the transaction didn’t go through. I was then instructed to insert my card again and $31.95 was taken off my card. I told the cashier I did not want to run my card anymore because currently Ross was holding $79.28 and $31.95 off my card. The manager, Janay, shut the computer and register down because it had frozen. I waited about 5 minutes and the $79.28 was eventually credited back to my card. At that time the manager rung up my items a second time and I paid $79.28 successfully. The manager, Janay told me the $31.95 would be refunded back to my card because she was not showing the $31.95 in her computer. She instructed me to come back to the store the next day if the money had not credited back to my debit card. The $31.95 did not credit back by the next day, and when I visited the store a different manager named Avion told me she could not find the $31.95 in their system and therefore she could not credit me back. I showed her the transaction history from my debit card where the money was debited and completed and was no longer pending. It clearly states the debit came from Ross Dress for Less Stores. She told me the only thing she could do was offer me was a store credit for $31.95 and that is unacceptable. I do not want more clothes, I want the money that was debited from my card incorrectly. This is stealing and Ross Dress for Less needs to rectify this matter immediately. You cannot debit someone’s card and they not receive clothes in exchange for the debit. That is stealing. Additionally, refusing to refund the money when it was clearly was a technical error on Ross’ end shows that they simply do not care about providing good customer service or keeping a faithful customer. To be given the run around over this situation further confirms this will be the last time I shop in a Ross Dress for Less store. I want my money refunded back to my card immediately. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Walked in at 9:05, and a man gets on the loud speaker and says "Ross is closed". I thought this store closes at 10pm

Had a terrible experience today while exchanging an outfit for my daughter. As soon as I got to the register I stated that I was doing an exchange and the employee did not listen to me and immediately scanned the receipt and told me my money was going back to my card. I reiterated that I wanted to do an exchange and the employee became visibly frustrated and said "why didn't you tell me" and began mumbling and I told her that I had. She said "why did you not bring the other items 1st?" To which I said that I didn't know their process here and also asked why this was such an issue and that I know that they are busy and do not want to create a scene. She said "go and get your stuff" I went and came back and she yelled in front of everyone "ma'am, ma'am you don't wait in the line" and then eveyone was staring at me and I stood their confused and she didn't state what was next so I was grabbing a bag and leaving when she yelled "I need to process this" and told me to come back. I had never experienced such unprofessionalism . This employee was an older lady who seemed to be asian. The younger staff have better customer handling experience than her clearly. I'll make sure to go to TJMaxx only from now on. 11/24/23
