So glad that we found Step Ahead Mobility when we needed a lift chair. Such a great experience with great people. Delivery was also wonderful with setup and he also went through everything regarding the chair and patiently answered all of our questions. We will definitely go back for any future needs and we highly recommend a visit to their store.

I rented a mobile scooter last weekend. All advertisement about this company is true. Very nice customer service. They took the time to give us a class of break down and reassembling. I recommend this company to anyone with a disability. I will be using this company again and again. Thank you guys alot. By the way we took the scooter to Washington DC

Great experience working with Dave the owner. He was honest and forthright about what he could and could not do and was able to service our mobility scooter in a timely manner if I ever come back to Chapel Hill and help, I will come back to step ahead mobility.

I purchased my BuzzAround a couple of yrs ago from a competitor because I didn't know about Step Ahead. When it was starting to show its age and needing a couple of things tended to, I found Step Ahead. They have been so friendly and helpful it has been a pleasure to work with them. Cost was upfront and transparent. Scheduling was flexible and when it was all said and done, it looked as good as new. They made us feel like part of the 'family' and not just a customer that needed to be fit into their schedule. Keep up the good work Dave and Ali!!

Have used Step Ahead twice (once by phone w/equipment delivered to my home and once visited store) and both times the service was very help and extremely friendly. Rented equipment was in very good condition. The employees asked several questions to make sure I not only got the equipment I needed, but also that the equipment would be correctly fitted for me. I would not hesitate to use this company's services again.

Dave at Step Ahead Mobility was absolutely great!! We came to the store to ask about foot rests for my wheelchair that we hadn’t been able to find online and as luck would have it - Dave had a pair that fit perfectly! Dave was very helpful! Thank you, Dave!

As I write this in May of 2024, Step Ahead Mobility has earned 124 reviews on Google of 5 stars, and here are 5 more from me, now. Dave runs a superb shop. I needed tires replaced on my lightweight manual wheelchair, his team handled it quickly and professionally. Later I required an multi-direction adjustable recliner for my leg therapy, his team was there to see it through to delivery and assembly. Dave is a pleasure to negotiate with, and every customer I have watched Step Ahead deal with receives plenty of attention. Good job gang. Highly recommending this shop to anyone who needs these services.

staff is so friendly and helpful! came in for a consult to fix my busted wheel, came out 20 minutes later with it completely fixed- for half the consult price! they also left me with recommendations for local wheelchair programs that i never would’ve known about otherwise. thank you guys!

My mother has a temporary disability affecting her mobility, and she was visiting for 5 days for a family event. We rented a wheelchair at Step Ahead to help her get around. Usage was explained to us step-by-step, and it was a wonderful experience. Thank you!
