We flew in Friday morning to Raleigh and had a reservation. We waited 2:30 hours because their system wouldn't let us skip the line with online check-in. 12 pm 3 folks went to lunch with over 100 folks in line. They were calling 4 times more dollar and thrifty customers than Hertz customers. The black lady with blonde hair was yelling at customers who were upset with no help. The horse manure she was speaking I didn't have tall enough waders for. I guess they thought everyone wanted to hang out with them for vacation. I'll never under any circumstance step foot in or support Hertz Car rental again. My wife kept me from getting involved, but those employees shouldn't be allowed to be around customers.

Great experience. Counter person was patient and informative. The wait wasn't long. No problem retrieving the car and leaving the lot.

Horrible... Worst experience... Sign of a downfall... Waiting in line an hour . As a member.. with a reservation... No cars.. no board... No expediting.. waiting in the hot sun for cars to come in... This isn't how you keep customers..

I rented a car for the first time back in June, and the experience was smooth and hassle-free. Naomi made the process effortless and stress-free, while Miss Lu at the gate was incredibly kind and helpful. Overall, it was an excellent first-time experience.

I had some annoying issues while picking up the car. No car was available in the gold pick up area. Front desk insisted there is a car. After that, I was sent to a different area. But the only car over there had no keys. After 30 minutes of back-and-forth, I got the car.
My torture started when I was returning the car . Since it was raining heavily, the Hertz employee recommended that I leave the car keys in, and I will get the receipt online.
When I could not find the receipt under my account online, I spoke with customer service who created a case, and sent out a notification to the local office to close out the rental.
Unfortunately, many days later, there was no receipt and I was being charged for the car every day. Took multiples emails and escalations to get the rental closed and charges reversed.
In my many years of being a Hertz Gold member, I have never had such a terrible experience. This location needs some serious training and performance management.
I am sure we will see another response about “Thank you for your feedback”. As another reviewer pointed out, there is enough feedback on this forum for hertz to take drastic action.

Honestly, my experience yesterday (Sunday 7/21) was beyond comprehension - in the negative sense. First off, completely understaffed. Secondly, slow and uncaring - of course, they blamed the Crowdstrike computer issue from 2 days earlier. Seriously?? It took over 20 minutes once in my car just to exit the property, as only one exit gate was staffed. Oh, and on top of it all, I later note that the car's interior was not cleaned AT ALL. There was a good deal of garbage left in the back of the SUV (fast food bags and wrappers), and it literally looked like a youth soccer team had been using it all weekend - dried mud and grass all over the passenger compartments. Completely unacceptable.
My response to Hertz' corporate response: Look at the reviews of this location over the last 3 months. You're apologizing, but nothing is changing. This will be the last time I rent from Hertz, and particularly this ill-managed location.

Very poor selection on the presidents circle isles. They don’t put the nice cars out there anymore like they used to might have to switch to a different brand.

Very similar experience as many listed here. Car was fine, but long line to get out and this was the first time i was ever overcharged for fuel. Returned the car shortly after filling up the tank with the line sitll touching "Full" yet was charged for refilling.

The Hertz employees at RDU are all very nice and service orientated. No complaints there whatsoever. I had mechanical issues with my last rental and they replaced it quickly and very professionally. The only issue I have is with vehicle cleanliness. My past few rentals there weren't very clean at all. They've been vacuumed out a little, but the windshields and seats are often dirty.

Took about an hour of waiting to receive my car, the vehicle they gave me was already rented out to somebody, the vehicle's interior was so bad and dirty that they discounted the vehicle for me. Once I received the car there was only one exit. Took about another hour to leave the lot. Oh and the 200$ deposit, I still have not received that back. That was weeks ago

This review is for the Operations Clerk, Vincent. We had to exchange cars during our trip. In the mix of this, several items were left behind in the previous car, including my daughter's wallet. Vincent was integral in helping us locate all of our items and walked me down to the car to make sure that we got everything. He was courteous, professional, and helped us in a big way. He spent a long time doing things above and beyond. Thank you Vincent!
