Upon recommendation from a friend i came here to figure out the cause of a squeaking from my rear wheel when breaking. Kind people, took two hours of looking at my vehicle to figure out the "problem" which was "a bent axel" causing the rotors to rub which would cost me 650$ to fix. Took my car to chapel hill tire to get a second opinion and found out my axel was completely fine and it was just the caliper pins that needed lubrication which would cost me 143$. Not sure if the people looking at my car where just undereducated about the car issue or trying to pull one over.

Based on the recommendation of another shop (Just Tires), I usually come here when I'm uncertain about an issues with my vehicle. So far, I've had a wheel bearing replaced, fuel system cleaning, and a tune up. I've had 3 separate services done at this location. Normally, Bryan is up front to answer quiestions and schedule services. He's been consistently pleasant to deal with. Another gentleman, Scott is very informative and breaks down information easily (for me). The Maintenace techs are hit or miss for me but they've repaired my car without any secondary issues.

My 4 tires were ordered and took about six days to get to the shop. Customer service was friendly and concise but could have been more proactive in communicating the status of an order that ended up taking 6 days- minus 1/2 star for that.In the end, the tires seem excellent quality and they accommodated my request for tires not more than 6 months old. Thank you for that! With all the deals, rebates, etc. out there, I especially appreciated being quoted a flat fee, out-the-door price. While not the cheapest "net, net" deal out there, the price was reasonable and competitive.I have always had confidence in any Black's Tire Shop to properly install tires and safely tighten the lug nuts. It took about 1 hour, 45 minutes to install, but that's okay for a job done right. The waiting area was slightly better than the average tire store's- there was a side room (for kids) and another for snacks and beverages. The kids room had a nice window in it, was clean and gave us a place to escape the negativity coming from the big screen t.v. in the main room; we can do without that nowadays, just pipe in some soft relaxing music and have a separate room for laptop computer setup, with a stationary desktop computer for use and access to snacks and a coke. That will suffice for most people for a two hour wait.I appreciated how they had one person, O'Brien, dedicated to dealing with the customers by phone and as they came in the door. This worked efficiently- he remembers his people and their details well.I'm anticipating the included complimentary tire rotations every 7,500 miles will be accessible and uneventful. If you think about it, you have one visit to install tires, but seven or eight to rotate your tires on schedule- that's where customer service proves out. We'll see.Until then, 4.5 stars rounds to 5.

I'm new to the area so I was looking for a good place to take my car for routine and repairs. I had a great experience from the booking of the appointment to the actual visit. Alex was great in assisting me with my service and I will definitely be back with my baby for care and services. Thanks for being what I'm looking for guys.

I took the older CRV to this shop in the afternoon and when they were able to take the car inside It took them a while but eventually they found the problem right around closing time. It was the Distributor and they ordered the part and it was replaced the following morning I was told it would be around 510 dollars to replace Distributor. That seems to be the going price. I was skeptical at first but once I drove home without an incident I trusted it was the correct diagnosis. Will go back for any other mechanical failure in the future, they all seem to be good and honest. I don't mind waiting but be good at what you do and be honest about the whole process. I am a do it yourself-er to some extend so I know when they do the bait and switch. Not this place and that must be why they have been in business for a while. I haven't had a problem again, it has been a while and the car starts normal and fortunately for me won't die in the middle of traffic like when it first happen when I had a problem with two motorists that I bet they would have shot me if they had a gun; my car died at a red light and wouldn't start again until about 4 minutes later, after honking and yelling they decided to drive around me as if they had a flight to catch and they had just been released from jail downtown Raleigh

I called early to ask for an appointment and for a specific tire. They said they had the tire and no appointment necessary. When I went in, they said they didn't have the tire I needed and I had to wait there for a few hours, just to get a tire changed. On top of that, they didn't do their due diligence to do an alignment after the new tire was put on, and sent me onto the road. It was extremely dangerous because I had no idea the alignment was way off and my car started veering off the road, an issue I did not have before going to them. I even told them I was concerned about the indicator lights before I went off onto the road and they said don't worry about it. They were so rude about everything. Please never choose these guys for your car needs.

Three times a truck they have serviced has come to my shop complaining that it is leaking transmission fluid. Three times it has been overfilled, three times on site automotive just serviced the vehicle. We correct the fluid level and don’t see the vehicle for 5000 miles then onsite services the vehicle and guess what its back blowing fluid out of the vent because onsite overfilled it again. Please don’t use these people

I spent a lot of time there today, getting my solenoid replaced. I got a lot of work done in the waiting room. Comfy seats and couches. Coffee, etc. Super friendly front end staff. Honest workers. None of the "making women feel small" at this shop! Very good experience.
