Wil Mar is great. It's a beautiful golf course especially for beginners as it's very open. Been coming here for a year now. The only bad thing about the place is the starter, (I don't know his name), but is an absolute dick. Just encountered the man for the first time this morning when my buddy and I "missed our tee time". We had an 8:00am tee time, so we checked in to the pro shop and hit a few balls and were at the tee boxes by 8:00am. I guess we were supposed to be grouped with the people who teed off prior at 7:55? Long story short, the guy gave us a hard time and handled it very poorly..it was not a busy morning either. Also asked what was in my cooler (I had 2 waters and a sandwich) and he even asked me to show him. Wil mar is great but get rid of this man, really wish I knew his name. Not a nice person.

Half assed course that looks awful. Sand traps are dirt traps with a lack of yardage description. Greens are the size of the tee boxes:.. $90 for two people to play here is a joke.

This wonderful gem of a golf course is very tough but fair. You have to stay in the fairway of course, but the greens are simply outstanding. I am a 14 handicap and I play from the white tees. I am not a bomber but I can get there to the greens in regulation. It is very affordable to play this golf course. It is fun to play and the staff is outstanding. From when I come in and check in to the time I leave after a cold coors light at the 19th hole, it is a great experience. Cudos to all the staff at Wil Mar. See you again soon.

Played here for the first time yesterday and had a wonderful experience! The course was in great shape. The greens were excellent and even the bunkers were beautiful...(if a bunker can be beautiful.) The newly added black tees made for a challenging but fun round. And the staff was extremely friendly and helpful! It's not a difficult course, but the layout does demand some precision. The pace of play on a Sunday was very reasonable. Some waits on a few holes but nothing too painful. Overall a great value...and easy to get to. I will absolutely be back again.

The greens fee align with the experience, and the course/greens are in decent shape right now. A few things to note: 1. The starter is a complete a-hole (think of "Grumpy Old Men" and he's the real jerk of the two, Max). Every local player I know has stories about this guy, all cringe-worthy. 2. The pace of play is often slower than your average course. They will book tee times every 6-7 minutes and the caliber of player on this course means people are spraying the ball and then taking longer to finish each hole. 3. Bring your own snacks/drinks, but stuff them in your golf bag - the clubhouse is lacking and you likely won't see a refreshment cart. The starter will get pleasure out of sending you back to the car after he interrogates you before the 1st tee. He is like a bloodhound and can smell a cooler under a golf towel, so be smart about it and crack one after you tee off and laugh about whatever else he berated you about. Play well!

They lost all the greens last winter, but put a lot of work and money to replace them this year. Now almost all the greens are in excellent shape, a couple are just good and getting better. They also have about the best practice facility in the area. I recommend this course.

The greens are unplayable. Normally I enjoy playing this course, but it is in such poor shape that I will not play there again. There was a disclaimer about greens condition, but it was not nearly as descriptive as it should have been. The course should be closed until the repairs are completed.

I've played this course for several years and it's always been in good shape. Unfortunately my friends and I played it last week and to say it's in bad shape would be an understatement. The greens have been totally lost and the fairways aren't really any better. I really don't know what happen but I wish I could've been mentioned to us when we were purchasing our round just as a courtesy.

Our group understands that it's still early in the season/year and course conditions won't be ideal for the most part, but greens were almost unplayable. With that said the clubhouse should be up front with golfing patrons before charging them for the round. $18 for 9 holes in the late afternoon with those conditions was a huge disappointment and made our experience forgettable.

This is a smaller family owned course that offers a great value. They must take great pains to consistently offer a good course for the money paid. This is not a particularly difficult layout with the exception of a few holes which for right handed golfer who fades the ball could cause issues. The course favors the golfer willing to play target golf and not reach for the driver on every hole. In fact the majority of the course could likely be played with nothing more than a 3 hybrid of 3 wood. The staff are for the most part excellent and polite. The clubhouse is small and nothing like a high priced club but it is still acceptable. New golf carts work fantastic. Greens are cut a little think and are very soft but are almost without exception in excellent condition. The only problem is on mid weekend times it can be fairly slow because of the affordability it tends to attract some more hack type golfers unfamiliar with typical golf etiquette for speed on course. The range is fair to below average, range balls are a majority of woods found balls. Overall I will continue to play this high value course.

Just the right mix of well kept and affordable for a returning to the game player like myself. The staff has always been helpful, including the small restaurant/bar staff. I will continue to frequent this course, and I'm thankful that it is very close to home. Thanks

Fairly decent course. Grounds keeper not doing a good job of killing the major weed problems. Can see fertilizer burns on fairways and roughs.Ponds are full of alge hydrilla etc.. If their super has been there all these years and still not got it right, somethings wrong.Half the staff is very nice the others ,oh well... But it's a nice place for fun golfers.

We played this course on Sat June 6 The range is "country" and was not cut so shooting was a challenge in reviewing the results of your shot. The course itself was ok. The fairways were clean, the T boxes were as needed, but the greens were a wreck. Aerated and no sand or aerated and too much sand and they were hard as rock. Getting a good putt or taking a read was next to impossible. The cost of this 18 rounds was 35.00. Overpriced for the course, they should pay you to play the greens. The food was limited and no fried foods, such as "fries". The ranger was not present on the course, and backup at one point was four teams deep. Consequently, two teams behind us jumped out of line. One of theses teams replayed the first 9. Once the ranger showed up, the play smoothed out a little. The staff was courteous, for the most part, the food - staff, somewhat rude. There are better courses for the money. Jus' sayin'.

Played in early May, 2015. Went there because I thought it was supposed to be in good shape. 90% of the greens were like sandy green colored asphalt,, and most tee boxes were no better. Fairways were ok, but aeration and accompanying dirt plugs were everywhere. Staff were very nice, food is well priced.

If you play golf long enough and your not a total golf snob then you appreciate courses like this. Family owned, fair play and standing the test of time. I play here when I need an ego boost to my game because I always have a decent to good round and I highly enjoy myself....isn't that's what playing is all about? You won't find a friendly staff at any public course. Plus they have a driving range which is super cheap and is all grass which is awesome. Bring some cash because the snack bar doesn't take cards and call ahead before you book a tee time on golf now. They host a lot of tournaments(another upside if you are looking to host a tournament). I would give it 5 stars but the pace of play can be slow at times.
